        Specifications

        • Engine & Transmission

          • Engine
            1598 cc, 4 Cylinders Inline, 4 Valves/Cylinder

Timely services will keep a motor efficient and in top shape.

          • Engine Type
            VGIS

The official title given by the manufacturer in terms of the name of the engine, the displacement and the number of cylinders.

A bigger displacement and more than four-cylinders generally indicate a performance-oriented engine.

          • Fuel Type
            Petrol

All cars in India either run on petrol, diesel, CNG, LPG or electric power.

          • Max Power (bhp@rpm)
            101@5800

Gives a good idea of the performance of the vehicle under full thrust. A higher figure here usually means a higher top speed as well.

Higher the power, the peppier the engine but it can also affect fuel economy.

          • Max Torque (Nm@rpm)
            140@4500

Relates to in-gear acceleration. A higher figure here means better roll-on acceleration, fewer gear shifts, and possibly better fuel efficiency.

The more torque at low RPM range makes the engine feel more responsive. It also allows the engine to run smoothly without too many gear changes.

          • Mileage (ARAI)
            10.76 kmpl

This is the maximum fuel efficiency that an engine gives. All numbers are provided by the manufacturer based on tests conducted and specified by the standards of the ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India)

Such fuel efficiency attained while driving in special conditions makes it unlikely to get it in real-world conditions

          • Drivetrain
            FWD

Cars come with different drivetrain configurations depending on the segment.

Front-wheel drive (FWD) is most common in mainstream cars while expensive cars or SUVs come with rear-wheel drive (RWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD).

          • Transmission
            Manual - 5 Gears

Type of transmission used to transfer power from the engine to the wheels

A manually operated transmission is the most popular type, thanks to its simplicity and low cost. Varied types of automatic transmissions are also available.

        • Dimensions & Weight

          • Length
            4295 mm

            Length
            • Length: 4295

Longer length results in more cabin space. It also adds to straight line stability.

          • Width
            1725 mm

A car's width is defined as its widest point without its mirrors.

            Width
            • Width: 1725

Although more width gives you more lateral space inside the cabin, it makes the car more difficult to park in narrow spots.

          • Height
            1445 mm

The height of the car denotes the highest point of the vehicle from the ground.

            Height
            • Height: 1445

If a car has a large fuel tank, it can cover long distances without refuelling.

        • Suspensions, Brakes, Steering & Tyres

          • Front Suspension
MacPherson Strut Twintube Gas Pressure Strut

          • Rear Suspension
MacPherson Strut With Dual Links Twintube Gas Pressure Strut

The rear suspension can either be non-independent or independent.

Most of the budget cars have non-independent suspension while the more expensive ones get independent rear suspension which offers better bump absorption.

          • Front Brake Type

Most of the vehicles sold in India get ventilated or non-ventilated disc brakes upfront.

            - The ventilated discs are more popular thanks to them providing better stopping power and it also works well in hot conditions.

        • Buying a 2007 used SRV - suggetions required
Exterior Awesome, better than any other car in this segment. can be compared to crv's. Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) OK but not too bad. One should not except the interiors of luxury in this car. can compare to premium hatch backs. Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox 7-9 in city I guess. Ride Quality & Handling Powerfull. thrilling. handling is good once u are in a sports vehicle u will obiously feel the power. Final Words I had test drive. looks are killing ... powerfull but pickup is low. Cant comment about the milege accurately. but my research says I'll not get more than 8-9 in city .. highway might be a different seen. I am going to finalise the car in few days .. i can bare the low milege for the killing looks of it . Please provide ur valueable suggestions if u faced any major issues or any other... deal i am getting is 3 lakhs for 44K driven 2007 model.  u can conatct me if u have time 9916292821.. thanks in advance. • SRV the Lacetta car from Suzuki built by Daewoo and now with Chevy
Exterior The bupmer could be of much harder plastic, the plastics on the windows and hatch back are of poor quality and appears cheap.   Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The dash board very poor looks and finish, the floor matting is also very cheap carpet, the top is also of some poor material. The plastic fittings are cheap. The space and comfort is okay.   Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine great but the gear box not good. I think the fuel economy lost the car in India.   Ride Quality & Handling Great to ride very much fun and most easy to handle.   Final Words The car is great but Chevy in India did not plan to market and support the service well. The service centers are key to repeatative business in cars and this end of Chevy is weak from the serivce I get from S C Auto at Thane.   Areas of improvement The cars could be better designed for Indian roads and managed well for after sales with professional service centers trained in such good cars. The present service center like S C Auto at Thane has given me a hate to buy Chevy in future because of their bad service (mostly incomplete) and very funny lot of people.  Great Style, Comfort and speed.Bad after sales service workshops like SC Auto in Thane. They spoil the car after in use.

        • Its got the Oooomph!!!
After many test drives of various other cars in this segemant, the dcision to buy and SRV was a carefully thought out one. Did take into consideration some of the drawbacks but the looks definitely was the final deciding factor. The car is pretty smooth to drive except for the 2nd and 3rd gears where engine seems to knock a bit. Have to get that checked with the service centre. Its pretty quiet inside the car and feels solid. The interior space is amazing especially the rear seat when compared to Honda City, Ford Fiesta and Hyundai Verna. I would've been more happy with a better gear shift. Here, the City and Verna are much better. So much has been talked about beige interiors, but I personally like the grey tone of the SRV. Its much better to have grey interiors when you have children. I had also read in many magazines that the pick up is rather slugish, but I found it to be pretty decent. Maybe its just a point lower than the City Vtec and Verna. But one is happy with the overall performance. Afterall I am not going to use it in a race. The alloy wheels not only add to the looks of the car, with Good Year tyres adds to a great ride quality. The Alpine music system that comes with the car is really good. The speakers are of good quality and the two tweeters placed near the door oping knob looks really cute. The aircon is really good and very effective even in the Delhi summer. Many people felt tha the car is bad on fuel economy. So far I have been getting 10 KMPL in Delhi traffic, which I feel is pretty decent. There is enough boot space in the car even though it does'nt have a proper boot. It is sufficient for my personal requirement. Coming now to a few of the draw backs - one fails to understand as to why only airbag has been provided. The front passenger side seat should also have an airbag. The horn on the two sides of the steering wheel is a bit uncomfortable to use. Keeping the traffic condition in India, one does need to use the horn a bit more frequently than one would probably use in some other country. I am yet to take it out on the highway. Will write about the car's performance on the highway sometime later. These are my personal views without any intent to show any other car in a bad light. Would I recommend this car? Yes, definitely I would. Its the best!!! JasonGreat looks, very spacious, excellent music system and airconBad gear shift
