The Mulsanne is Bentley’s flagship sedan and measures over 5.5m in length. It’s powered by a 6.75-litre twin turbocharged petrol V8 engine which is the mainstay in all Bentleys. It churns out 512bhp and 1020Nm of torque, hauling the over 2.5 tonne limousine to over 100kmph in just about 5 seconds. The Mulsanne, then, is both extremely brisk and very comfortable.
Only two luxury car manufacturers have managed to brave the tumultuous journey of ups and downs over the past century and Bentley is one of two. Bentley has been building luxury cars since the early 1900s and the brand continues to bring out super luxury cars for the rich and influential. The Mulsanne then, sitting at the top of the Bentley range, is one of the best luxury cars you can buy with the only competition to it being a Rolls-Royce.
The Mulsanne is Bentley’s flagship sedan and measures over 5.5m in length. The front fascia is upright and features the dominant mesh front grille flanked by the twin round headlmaps with LED DRLs and bi-xenon projectors. The air intake on the bumper stretches across the width and gets a splitting chrome line in the centre just like the grille. The shoulder crease extends from the front fender through the length of the car to swoop down at the rear fender. The signature Bentley tail lamps adorn the graceful rear.
The interior of the Mulsanne is palatial. The large doors open into luxury motoring replete with high quality leathers, wooden garnishes and impeccably designed seats. The limousine gets all the creature comforts befitting a top-of-the-line luxury sedan including individual climate control, panoramic sunroof, power adjustable seats et al. The safety net of airbags and electronic aids is comprehensive to ensure car and occupant safety.
The Mulsanne is powered by the 6.75-litre twin turbocharged petrol V8 engine, the mainstay in all Bentleys. It churns out 512bhp of power at 4200rpm and 1020Nm of torque at 1750rpm and hauls the over 2.5 tonne limousine to over 100kmph in just about 5 seconds. The engine powers the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic gearbox developed specially for the Mulsanne. The Mulsanne competes with Rolls-Royce cars like Ghost and Wraith with the Phantom being still out of the reach.
