Its an update after 45000 kms.

My car met with a major accident when it just crossed 40k.

The whole front was damaged along with the left fender and door.

The total expense in the car was close to 2L and i had to pay around 70k from my pocket.

After the repair the car it is running normally as earlier which prooves the service ability of Toyota.

Highway milaege was 12.5 km/l with AC on at Delhi - Agra - Delhi trip of 500 kms

      Will keep you guys posted.

      Hello All,

Iam driving Innova for the last nearly 3 yrs and have driven 40k already.

It is the most comfortable in its segment. The third row can accomodate an adult comfortably unlike scorpio. A very comfortable for 8 adults so an ideal car for a big family.

The ride and handling gives you a very safe feeling. This car has a gr8 punch to overtake at even above 120 km speeds.

Fuel economy would be my concern though understandable so being a big and heavy car. Iam getting the milaege of around 10 in city and 13 on highways.

The service cost is fine (not too high on wallet)  as per Toyota standards. The tyres would need to be replaced by around 45k kms

Now a facelifted innova is expected in December which has more features.

Overall a wonderful product and a good value for money.

Great Utility vehical. A must have for a big family! --Milaege

Firstly a hearty congradulations to all(happy and proud)innova owners. This is a review from my heart and after 3yrs or 70,000kms of ownership of my innova.   1.LOOKS: As far as looks are concerned innova sucks WITHOUT A SPOILER.it must be fitted on the day of purchase itself. The difference with it or without is innevitable. 2.INTERIORS: Are in the league of luxury cars.space not to mention is superb. 3.ENGINE: innova 's engine is a good allrounder but not as talented as the rest of the car. PERFORMENCE is strong b/w 1400-2700rpm.MILEAGE-10.5 in city and 16 on highways(driven at 80kmph in fifth gear).  3.SUSPENSION : highly sofisticated . superb balance of ride and handling. 4.SAFETY: typical toyota standards . side doors are protected with alloy cross-section beams.       I DEFINITLY RECOMMEND INNOVA!!!. UNCOMPARABLE TO SCORPIO,TAVERA AND SAFARI.toyota brand, comfort, ride, handling, steering, space, interiors, overall quality, brakes(don't need ABS!)accessory prices and seriously nothing else.one of the best car in india

Recently purchased Innova G4 8 seater (upgraded from Sedan 3 box)  covered around 1700 KM in 20 days. My initial observations / feed back is as below. +tive & -tive.

      a.       It looks huge from outside, but once you get inside you feel that it’s like a luxuries big size car. While driving you don’t feel the volume /size of the  car in small narrow roads, it can easily maneuvers in narrow roads. Good visibility.

      b.       While driving in city, you don’t require to apply the 1st gear, in 2nd gear you can mange to move the  car without any jerks. On highway it can manage  with 4th and 5th gear. Frequent change of gears in not required. You can comfortably cruise 120 to 130 km on highway without any risk. Observed that once the speed is beyond  115 to 120  km. the engine sound will be more any how you can’t expect the speed like sedan models.  While overtaking the other vehicle, you should be little careful on the accelerations if the speed cuts in the middle, again you can’t gain the instant speed immediately.

      c.        Initial time I was bit worried about the breaks on high way roads. My experience the breaking system is very good on high speed. (G4 Model without ABS) very dependable breaking. In fact while I was driving at around 125 km I could mange to stop the car without any havoc or confusions very good road grip, car did not move towards sides it was a straight approach stop. Comfortable seats for driving even though there is no seat adjustments,  no back pain for long driving. Power Steering is bit hard on drive, Get used to it.  AC is having a good cooling.

      d.       Big problem with the Head ligh<

Road Grip, Comfort seating, AC, BreakingHead Light, Engine sound, power steering tight.

Good car, but value asked for is too high. Innova does not get this high resale value. Most customers are high net worth and go for a new car. Tourist operators, the usual seconds customers do noy prefer this carV good fuel economyPrice at higher end compared to similar category

I am a proud owner of Innova Diesel Variant V model for a year now completed 20000 Kms,below are the possitive and negatives of my Innova

      Possitive.

Good road handling, good pickup, good seating space on all three rows, Ac very effective on all three rows,I am getting 10 kms in city. 14 kms on highway if speed is 80-100 kms. After opening all 3 rows still space to keep luggage.Toyota service very good, service cost ok not much if you make smart card for one year. Braking is very very effecient with ABS Brakes, checked many times especially during night driving, car comes to a standing halt within no time.

      Negative

On bumpy roads bootom of car gets hit especially when all 3 rows of car seats are occupied. Priced to high.

Overall value for money i would recommend this car to others, very good car to have if you have a big family.Innova should consider in dropping the price.

Good road handling, good style, good pickup.Priced to high,On bumpy roads bottom of car gets hits when all 3 seating rows occupied.

Just bought Innova VX on 25.01.2012...was updating myself with new touch screen DVD player in the care & was shocked to see that car only runs video play back in unmoving Car with hand brake on.

In the whole process we understand Toyota has placed this DVD player just for the convenience of driver sitting at a halt car. If we as a family driving 3 to 4 hours at a stretch & wants to enjoy a movie is not possible, how bad a system you have made. I regret on your thinking, you would have place a screen on the back of headrest or on the roof top. For the safety issues.

It’s an added feature with no use & just getting some extra money from the buyers pocket. Without letting them know before they purchased the Vehicle with disgusting features like DVD player.

I was so annoyed to read out in your manual about your product so called DVD Players. Should have been called “For Drivers Use Only”

Hope you do look into this matter and replace the better one with a playback option while in motion. I expect a replacement of this product.

6 Months back i was very confused. I want to but the muv or suv but it is really difficult to finalise the vehicle from scorpio, Tevera, Tata Safari, Sume Grande. I read many previews on carwale.com and other sites but carwale.com is best for this. I test drive every of these muvs.

Above all carwale.com suggested me for Innova. It was little out of my budget but the kind of reviews i read i decided to go for Innova. Now I am proud owner of Innova and also very thankful of carwale.com for guiding me for this decision.

I covered over 20,000 KMs in last 4-5 months. This is very comfortable car. Never feel i am driving a big vehicle specially after driving Zen for long time. We went for a long family tour . We were 6 major and 4 children. Our rout was Chandigarh, Dalhi, Agra, Gawalior, Indore, Burhanpur, Nanded (Hazoor Sahib), Bidar, Puna, Bombay, Daman & Diu, Ahemadabad, Mount Abu, Jaisalmer (Rajasthan), Bikaner, Ganganagar, Bathinda and back to Chandigarh. We covered over 5,000 kms.

Honestly there was no tiredness, it was very smooth and nice driving experince. In hills also (Mount Abu)  very comfortable. In plains of Rajasthan we drove this at 135 km/h. Never had any problem.

EVEN AFTER 9 MONTHS OF DRIVING THIS WONDERFUL MACHINE I STILL RANK THIS INNOVA IS NO. 1 IN ITS SEGMENT.

So dont think twice if you are planning to buy this . Just go for this. My email is harpreet_dhaliwal347@yahoo.co.in

Style, comfrot and very low maintence costlittle over priced but surly not pinched after useing this remarkable vehicle.

First of all, I would like to thank my friends and other Carwale customers who have reviewed my Verna feedback and encouraged me to write about my current cars. Thank you once again.

I am not a person born with Silver spoon (??)... I am mentioning this because I have been upgrading to new cars every second year (inexplicable for a middle class salaried person). But there are certain things which compel you to take certain decisions.

I owned a petrol Verna till I decided to upgrade to Toyota Innova. After I made this decision and committed to a fairly large monthly EMI (on loan), I am not feeling guilty one bit. That is the satisfaction I have derived from my Innova. My children are loving it, my parents are very comfortable, my wife feels pampered and I feel completely in control (of the road)

      Now coming to the specifics...

Exterior One of the best designs for a big vehicle. Looks extremely attractive and up market. There might be several Innove taxis on road but still you feel it is still a private vehicle. Toyota does sell White colored Innova's in the higher variants. Good thought. I have fitted a rear spoiler to enhance the looks and bring in more stability. It is really working. The colors available are equally good. For a change a Black colored Innova pales in comparison with light colored ones. Alloy wheels a must to get the ultra good looking Innova. You need not worry about the wide tyres. It already has 205mm wide tyres which is good enough. Do not waste money for those extra wide tyres. It does not make much sense and also it might spoil the looks.

Interior One of the best in class. I tested Safari, Scorpio and Xylo before deciding on Innova. Those vehicles are no way closer to Innova when it comes to interior quality, space and feel. Innova is a class apart. Very plush, roomy and spacious... You might consider some upgrades if you want to feel better. I went for Toyota's leather seats, wood finish on door trims and dashboard, JBL speakers and JVC music system to complete the interiors. It is making me feel rich inside

Note: All of the above accessories are genuine Toyota and pricey. So please decide based on your pocket size.

Performance The 2.5 lt diesel engine is quite capable to pull 8 people on board. However, the 103PS power feels little less if you are used sedans, like I am. But nevertheless the power is linear and you will not feel any turbo lag whatsoever unlike Safari or a Scorpio. In terms of body roll, it is expected of a car of this size. But again, it is much less compared to other vehicles in this segment probably because it is not as tall as other vehicles in this category. Driving position is excellent, no matter how miles you munch, you feel still fresh. But you might feel frustrated when smaller cars like Swift, Santro overtaking you on highways. As I mentioned before it is little underpowered for its size. But this feature makes it a safer vehicle. Speed enthusiasts will definitely complain!

Further, city driving is not very difficult as people would assume. However, one should avoid narrow bylanes. Come on! you should respect a vehicle of this size for heaven's sake!

Mileage The most important factor for Indian owners, it is giving me 14.5 KMPL on highways with AC (80% of the time) and 12 KMPL in city with AC (again 80% of the time). Please do expect more from a car of this size and weight (2.3 tons). Some of my friends have got 16 KMPL on highways, might be true!

Price This is the most damaging part of Innova. It is very very very PRICEY to be very mild. With couple more lakhs one can buy bigger SUVs today. To add the ex-showroom you pay a huge amount of road tax in Karnataka (the highest in the entire country). But if you are planning not to change your vehicle for the next 5-6 years and have a bigger family (in today's world anything more than 4 people is a big family) then you should pay that extra money and go for Innova. It is really worth it.

Overall, I would say it is a very good vehicle if not the best for an Indian family.

TOYOTA WAS WELL KNOWN FOR ITS QUALITY AND ITS SERVICE. BUT NOW I DON'T THINK SO.

My Innova vane pump had got an oil leakage in 25000 km and when i showed it to Nippon Toyota Nettoor they said that it should be replaced and it can be done in warranty, we trusted them and Toyota.

Now my vehicle is 62000 km with the same complaint and when i showed them they said that again it should be replaced. I came to know from Nippon Toyota that they only repaired it on 25000 km instead of replacing and they just simply pretend they did so. Now they are saying that if you want, you should buy a new vane pump which cause only 30000. (thirty thousand)

So dear friends don't simply believe Nippon Toyota.

Now they are not at all Bothering about the complaint. I strongely suggest Toyota to take care of their dealer especialy Nippon Toyota.
