Skoda Yeti [2010-2014]

Really awesome cross over & a perfect luxury cute SUV for a family of 4. I am in love with Yeti, I am really finding it difficult to think of any alternative for my lil beast. I hope Skoda india will continue service back up to Yeti. If Skoda can service effectively I will keep this for at least 3 more years.NANA

Exterior  Exterior styling is good especially from front. From rear it looks boxy. Could have been little more Aerodynamically shaped. Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)  Interior fit and finish is excellent and is at par with luxury SUVs like X1. Value for money. Even Fortuner, Captiva canot be compared. Does not feel tired even after driving long distances. Only discomfort is that the boot space could have been little more. I am not able to carry more than two big bags on a long vacation. Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox  Very good pick-up. Smooth riding but a little stiff on turnings. Fuel is better than expectations when pick up is considered. Ride Quality & Handling  Very safe riding and the vehicle sticks to the road at higher speeds. Very comfotable  on bad Kerala roads. Final Words  A very good SUV with sedan like comforts. But the pleasure of the ownership will subside when you start dealing with Skoda service center even for minor service issues. For me it was a minmum of four days even for a routine check-up. I don't know whether the service center has to be blamed for this or not, because they always blame Skoda for shortage of spares in their inventory. It is true that most of the time the vehicle has to be detained by the service center for want of service spares. In my case I own this vehicle since March 2012 (30 months) and the vehicle was with service center for almost 03 months in total (10% of time of my ownership).If you are owner of single car and if that one is a Skoda, then you had it for sure. I don't understand why Skoda cannot improve their service attittudes. A nicely engineered product is spoiled by horrible after sales service. I will never recommend a Skoda for any of my friends or relatives.... for "enemeys", defenitely I can give a thought. Areas of improvement    Aerodynamics in shape, Boot space and above all the attittude in afetr sales service giving some thought to customer needs... for God's sake  Style, Powerful engine with good fuel economy, stable on road.More boot space

I had bought a Yeti in Dec.2011 and since last one month it is in workshop awaiting replacement of head, piston etc. etc. It all happened one fine day when car did not start and had to call the service center to look into the problem. Later on it was discovered that there was leaking oil valve which led to series of problem. Thankfully car is still in warranty period and Skoda is getting the part replaced although in their own sweet time. It indicates the poor quality control at their manufacturing facility and it worries me that where else the problem may occur and what if it occurs after the warranty period. They don't respond and you require lot of patience and preverance to get anything done. I suggest to all prospective car buyers to be extra cautious while opting for this brand if at all you want to go for it.Good style and compact sizeCar quality is a suspect and extremely poor response from Skoda.
