After the launch of the i20 in the latter half of 2008, Hyundai will now launch the diesel version of its i20. The diesel variant has no changes in looks when compared to its petrol sibling.
Engine:
The diesel variant should be powered by a 1.4l CRDI engine. The 1.4l CRDI engine will produce a power of 90bhp and a torque of 220Nm. The i20 could make more heads turn towards it as it will equipped with a refined diesel engine, with the new generation diesel engines being known for their performance and efficiency. The engine will produce a torque of 22kgm at 1750rpm.
Features:
The top model of i20 will be equipped with airbags and ABS. The car should even feature the 2DIN music system. The interiors of the diesel and the petrol variant will be the same.
Competitors:
The car will compete with the diesel versions of the Maruti Suzuki Swift (DZire also) and the Skoda Fabia. The Swift will be cheaper than i20 and the Fabia is on the expensive side. All the three engines are highly refined and efficient diesel engines.

In fact they are thinking to shift their plant to Europe . However present plant will continue to cater indian market. ( Source - CAR , June issue ).

that is what I have read. but yes its is really sad. the state government should be supporting the company so that they do not move away but i dont think the SG is of any help.

as of now i dont think they have any plans for a diesel i20. the latest news i heard is that they are planning to move their plant from chennai to Gujarat due to labour issues. In such a scenario diesel will take some time to hit indian roads

I m bit confused. ru telling us or asking.
If u r asking then i dnt think that i20 diesel will b launched by mid 2009.As i heard news that first i10 diesel is will be launched.Also HML can plan for i10 CNG.
i20 diesel sud tak sum time.
