Skoda Yeti Coming in Early 2010

Skoda Yeti
Expected in Early 2010
Estimated price: Rs 10 lakhs (basic model)
The 4.2 metre long, five-door vehicle has an impressive front end with a ribbed grille and stylish headlamps.  It has a robust and solid look on 17-inch wheels, whilst its fresh styling and high seating position enable the Yeti to exude lightness rather than looking bulky.

Engine:
The entry engine is a front-wheel drive, petrol engine with four cylinders and 1.2 litre capacity, which delivers 105bhp (77kW). Lesser capacity engine generating a good 105bhp is a clear indication of a lighter engine with more power.

Features:
The luggage compartment volume is flexible; up to 1,760 litres is available by removing the rear seats. A luggage cover and net as well as rings are available to secure any load.

Competitors:
The car could compete be a cheaper alternative instead of the Hyundai Tucson, Honda CR-V, Chevrolet Captiva , Suzuki Grand Vitara and the Mitsubishi Outlander.

Specs (Speculated)
Engine: 1.2l (Petrol); 2.0l (Diesel)
Power: 105bhp; 110bhp
Live Axle: Front (Front Wheel Drive), 4*4 will also be available
Length: 4.2 metres
Boot Space: 1,760 litres
CarWale's Words: Being a compact SUV, it will be easy to steer the car on the city streets.

This is for sure that this 1.2 tsi is gonna rock the market upside down.

VW is gonna be using this engine and Jazz is gonna have a touch time against it.

Rumours are that Fabia may be replace their current Petrol engine with the tsi.

1.2 TSi for 10-11.5lacs??? Smells something like the JAZZ to me. Hope skoda doesnt go the Honda way especially when its image has been hit after the 'high maintenance' issues.

The base model could be 1.2 litre FWD. FWD for an SUV, maybe the idea is to reduce its length.

I agree with you.. Superb will be good city car. The way German auto makers looking at India shows they are all set for a German invasion in Indian Automobile market. Scoda Superb is capable enough to compete any other product in this category and its worth buying the car.

Well....since skoda always has been proved with its inherent features as in high milage, having unique storage compartment in front and rear doors, and a tyre-pressure monitoring system. So far as i think this time this event  would accomplish its intended purpose.
