Its a full import, as in the fully built car is being shipped into India. This route will fetch the highest duties(almost more than twice the price of the car outside).
The other options are SKD and CKD kits but then there would arise the need for a lot of local investment before the cars can be sold.

@ Sudeep,
This time TATA Motors is handling all Marketing and PR activities of Fiat India.May be that the reason for not full blown advertisements. All major spare parts are available and when for the first time I visited TATA's service center for a small rubbing job, I was very warmly welcomed and was given special attention.
Yes, Linea asks for more power and a more powerful engine will certainly makes it a more hot commodity, currently they are testing 1.6 Litre petrol engine for Linea. But, 1.4 is not underpowered either and don't forget we are getting a proper sedan starting from 6.15 (ex showroom) and this 1.4 litre engine has made it pricing more competitive.
Please check and compare ANHC and Linea interiors again, even after that you not satisfied with the sophistication of interiors, then Fiat India should think about having new interiors for Linea more aggressively.
Little lac more for Honada City? Are you comparing Linea Multijet with ANHC? You should be comparing apples with Apples not with Apples with Oranges. Linea 1.4 starts from 6.15 (ex showroom) what is the starting price of ANHC? Even if you want to compare Linea Multijet with ANHC, then compare it overall (additional features you getting, blue and me, air bags, alloywheels, ABS, MY Car 1-2-3 .............)
One thing is sure, to dispell apprehensions of all prospective customers the Fiat Indian should be more aggressive in the advertisement front.

Actually, they were supposed to launch the Bravo along with the 500 and had even put it up on their web site. Now they have taken it off the link but the page for Bravo India still remains -
here it is -
Fiat Bravo - India

Linea uptake hasn't been impacted by Xylo launch. They are different vehicles and do not compete with each other. Even if there is, it would not be significant and strategic for the company to take a note of.
The reasons are:
- Fiat does not communicate with the public and hasn't been able to instil confidence among the car buyers that their primary concern of sound after sales service and availability of spares will be addressed. This is of paramount importance but is not addressed suitably. [Services at Tata showrooms are not satisfactory (take a look at Maruti and learn from them). Car owners do not want their vehicles to be mixed up with taxis.]
- People carry impressions and baggaages about Fiat and all those notions need to be dispelled.
- Linea is drop-dead-gorgeous. There are not second thoughts about it. However, its performance does not match up the size of the car. In the petrol version, the engine needed to be some what more powerful. Fiat Petra (rechristened Sienna) has 1.6 ltr engine and delivers 100bhp. Lines should have come atleast with that. It falls short when a driver wants to accelerate. Cooling needed to be better but it falls short when compared with Petra or Palio 1.6 which was discontinued. Diesel version is a shade better in acceleration. Interiors neeed to be more sophisticated. There is a mismatch between the exterior and interior. Admiration guaranteed till one drives it.
- Customer looks at the overall value proposition and that is where its not been able to impact ... lets say SX4.
- With easy avalable finances, customers are tempted to spend a lac or little more to move to Honda City, albeit over-priced.
- Resale is a very important component that Fiat needs to address. They need to work out a strategy to push up resale price of their cars and communicate that to the public intelligently.
- Story goes on ....

The Fiat 500 and the Abrath version might sell at that lofty price. The Bravo(possibly the best looking supermini in the world) wont find many takers in that price spectrum.

Why were Linea's sales be affeted by xylo,as the two are entirely different type vehicles(may be in the same price range),and the customers of the two have different needs(space, etc) (this is my personal opinion)
