Full Review

Having driven top of the line Land Rovers, needless to say the Tata Safari Dicor 2.2 VTT does seem like a poor cousin (ever noted the similarity between the Land Rover Freelander and the latest Safari?) - that said the Safari with the Dicor 2.2 VTT engine is great value for money and can certainly be rated as a world class SUV at desi prices! Though lacking cutting edge technology such as cross-wheel-drive, wheel spin control and intelligent/ variable suspension as also the impeccible quality and refinement of European interiors and safety systems (which ought to be standard anywhere in the world!) the latest Safari is head and shoulders ahead of the competition in the local market both in terms of engine technology (in particular VTT) as well as ride, reliability and handling- needless to say the very impressive looks and 'presence'.
Perhaps with Tata Motors purchasing the Landrover and Jaguar brands Tata engineers (and perhaps more importantly policy makers) will decide to show the desi market (whose support helped them to make the money to buy Land Rover in the first place) what they have picked up from Land Rover et al - perhaps...hopefully in the next Safari?? Meanwhile lets be happy with what seems certainly to be the best of what we have!!

Tata motors is a private company behaving like a government enterprise all the time. They don't work on Sundays, refuse to even look at your car on a holiday. So overall their customer service is too bad. It is better to take scorpio rather than Safri because of these reasons.

unfortunately the tata rusts like a pig iron ambassador and rattles like an alto, suspension gives away after 30k and service is too bad, quality of steel is disgracefull and interiors on standart models are sick, still a nice car, but not that stable.
