I own Indigo XL Petrol for last 8 months. Car' performance is satisfactory in terms of comfort, driving, cooling, engine power. Driving experience is good by any standard. Rear seats are delight for passengers sitting behind driver.
Cons: mileage not sure of, but for 500-600 km monthly travel users, it does not make much difference.

I am thinking of buying Indigo XL Classic petrol for monthly expected run of 400-500KMs mainly on highway. Will all the owners of this car report their experience of the car w.r.t it's performance, mileage and maintainance.I have hardly seen this car running on road and hence this request.I am also worried if I should but petrol engine car made by TATA as most of the people have advised me to go only for diesel engine if the car is from TATA.But my monthly KM running does not justify going for it

My 2006 model Indigo engine concked-off in 3 months of ownership.
I respect the man, but Ratan Tata will do better to stop letting his car makers from fooling the public by selling an awfull Car (truck) and an even awfull service setup who treat everyone equally...like Truck owners!!

Great car, spacious for 3 people at rear, not to mention accessories like side repeater lamps, engine immobilizer, automatic disabling of starter motor to avoid damage due to accidental cranks, Key in/out;door open; & seat belt audio warnings, coolant temp and low fuel level indicator, remote release of fuel and trunk lids, rear defogger, all 4 power windows with 1 touch, chilled glove compartment. What more do you expect from a car which cost just 5.35L for Classic Petrol in Delhi? -Sanjeet

Hi Buddy, I am one of those, I am sure many customers who have suffered bigtime bcos they decided to buy Tata vehicle instead of Maruti. I bought Indigo SX @ 6.3lacs almost 18 mths back. Mt car had just 24K kms when the engine conked off. I was given a replacement of the engine but it wasnt new, a refurbished one. Since then sone or the other break down keeps on hppng. Nw me deciding to sell this car @ 3lacs loss and swear not to ever even consider TATAS....Nobdy just listens at Pune of at dlrs
