Full Review

I own Tata Indica V2 Lxi (BS-II) since March 2002. From very first day, I found that this car has very Powerful Steering, which helps to park car even in small gap, very nice pick-up & ability to remain stable even at high speed on highways. You won't believe but I have driven this car at 170-173 kmph with MRF ZVTS Radial Tyres on Mumbai-Pune Expressway & it was very stable at that speed. The car has many features like Rear Wiper, Key Remain-in-out/ Seat Belt Warning, Very good leg space in front & rear, which other cars in the same segment doesn't have. What I found unique in this car, is that of Horn Lock. When you switch off the battery, Horn doesn't work. It gets locked. That's not the case in other cars of any segment. It is indeed a powerful car in the given segment. That's the main reason for which I have kept this car even after 5.5 yrs.

Now let me tell you about other side of this car. The car require huge maintenance. Almost on every fortnight I take my car to Workshop for servicing. In last 5.5 yrs, I have replaced almost every spare part of my car. Coolent Leakage is one of the most serious problem of this car, which I am still facing. Tata Motor's after sales service is very poor. I have tried their each & every workshop in Mumbai & Navi Mumbai. Not a single workshop has well-trained Service Mechanics. Once you visit there, you have to visit again & again. There are few workshops un Mumbai & Thane, (including Tata's own service centre) where your car's new spare parts are replaced with old without your knowledge. Tata should conducta customer satisfaction audit at every workshop. As far as Mileage of Indica is Lxi (Petrol) is concerned, it gives a very poor mileage of 8 kmpl (with AC) in city. It is a fact that mileage depend upon various factors such as driving style, condition of the road, tyre pressure etc. But there is a need of improvement on this front.

Overall if you are looking for a very specious & powerful car in small car segment then I strongly recommend Indica V2 for three years of usage.

well i have a tata dls BSIIcar since april2008.To be frank enough i prefered the car due to the man befind this car ie Mr Ratan Tata, a man of commitment. The overall performance of the car is good except wear & tears of the tyres, plastic quality of the interiors( causeing noise) and the mileage.Even after driving more than 20000 km i am geting 9-10 km/lt.The company should look/review these problems.Dipesh Chakraborty.

i had a Tata Indica DLG 2005 model, sold recently. The biggest problem is the after sales support and high maintenance cost. Fortnightly repairs, high wear and tear of tyres, and poor service from TATA made me sell this car. Every service was followed by follow up visits to the service center to fix one or the other thing. Made up my mind and moved on to Hyundai Accent.Got my peace of mind, and now I spend my weekends with family.Hav visited the Hyundai service center for service only in 7 mont

Well I have this Indica DLG purchased on August'05, and believe me till date the car has not given me any problem, except for that screeching sound of belt which the TATA engineers have not been able to rectify till date. The mileage has never come down below 18 km/pl, It even touched 24 km/pl on a long highway drive. The service in Cochin is fine (can't complain).
