Volkswagen Passat - Pass(at) with flying colours

Prelude

Volkswagen Passat August Heinrich Hoffmann, the man who penned down the lyrics of German national anthem, belonged to the city of Fallersleben which was incorporated into Wolfsburg in 1972 and now forms almost a quarter of this German city. Wolfsburg, which was formerly known as Stadt des KdF-Wagens, got its name in 1945. It was said that this town lacked culture and magnetism to lure visitors, and many guide books even went to the extent of advocating avoiding Wolfsburg when visiting Germany. Having been infamously famous as one of the least noteworthy towns in Germany, Wolfsburg has come a long way to change that reputation. And how! This change of status can primarily be attributed to an automotive company called Volkswagen. Heck, the name was even changed to Golfsburg for a week to honour the fifth generation VW Golf!

Coming from this very illustrious city, Volkswagen Passat is quite an inspirational car, in every sense you can think of. Does the Passat have what it takes to do what the VW Golf did – change Wolfsburg to Passatsburg for a week?
