Skoda Fabia - Fab(ia)ulous!

Prelude

Skoda Fabia 1.4TDI “Get up, Rohan, we’ve got to move. It’s five already” I rang him up. “You’re just being like my mom there. If you’re an insomniac, that’s not my problem” this young antediluvian-man-like-lad, full of facial fungus (on that day he was!) said, in a slightly sleepy murmur. “Ah, yes. That you may say I am. How about me reminding you that we have a drive lined up, that of the Skoda Fabia.” My words pierced his ears like a knife goes through butter (okay, that’s a clichéd example, but you get the point) and what followed was the quickest ‘freshening up’ act that I’ve noticed in my entire life as he was all dressed up for the occasion (if pyjamas can really fit the scene) and came running out as I waited outside his apartment. And, I ask, why not such a reaction? The Skoda Fabia, afterall, has been one of the most awaited cars that have been in the news for what seems like an eternity.

Having slept late at night, the hour-long drive to the showroom was used up well to irritate the other two occupants of the car by the noise of vibration of the back of the roof of my mouth and uvula (in short, snoring, for easy understanding, but I wanted to make it sound complicated lest anyone would laugh out loud on me. If you laughed still, grrr…) and when we reached the showroom, fresh as a daisy I felt. There stood the Fabia, smart as the ceremonial guards at the Prague Castle, to greet us. We exchanged eyeballs, with mine exploring all of her form. And then we went on a drive…
