Hyundai Tucson For?
Appealing and bestial, both in form and performance. The Hyundai Tucson is a clever example of engineering
potential. Those 122 horses coming from a 2L heart help this manic SUV blast in a way which is not expected
from a SUV. Not a diesel one atleast! Decent interiors and inside space accentuate firm but not irritating ride
to make life comfy. Handling belies the character of this SUV pitching it closer to the "car-like"
territory. Going at the better side of 15 lakh, does this car have credentials to justify the price it demands?
Lets find out...
The road test was to be done on Friday the 13th. Hmmm.. bad thing. Specially when someone's suffering from triskaidekaphobia! But well, did we have many avenues open? No. So accepted our fate we did and carried on, with much trepidation, if I must add.
Proceeding with the road test, despite all the fears of the day and the date mind you, I tried to pour over the looks of the Tucson. You see, Korean designers are known to have eccentrically thinking minds. This is proved in good measure by the wild styling of the Tucson which makes it look brute and handsome.
The proboscis is blunt and the huge 'eyes' which amalgamate seamlessly into the bumper, stare at you with aggression.
The behind of this car will have you appreciate the sloping yet taut roofline and the chunky C-pillar.
Traits of mother, Santa Fe, are filtered down to the Tucson. That black protective clothing running on the
entire side body looks menacing indeed. There is a creative tension between the form and flow of the lines and
curves all through. The roof-rail gives it added disposition. It is hard to decide whether you like the front end
more or the rear. Both the sides have an individual character and both look appealing. The Tucson is like that strong,
voluptuous and sexy barmaid ready to please you whenever asked from her.....
....and please she does in a way that will 'blow' you off! The flow bestowed on her body continues on the insides of the Tucson. My overture of doing it for fun was well received by this portly example of an SUV and the act from prelude to the finale was 'oh-so-satisfying'. The first thing that you notice while she lies there, waiting to be felt, is that age has not much dawned upon her yet. She still feels as fresh as she was when you first set your eyes on her.
Beautiful skin is typical of the Tofu-eating female examples of human species. Tucson is somewhat similar. Her interiors have stood the test of time with grace. Cubby holes abound, it makes things easier to store. The look and feel of the intrument cluster is nice but our consternation came to fore at the absence of a second trip meter. Just one trip? Maybe we are getting spoilt by each passing day and option. The front seats are supportive and the steering is adjustable, so arriving at the ideal driving position is never a big deal. The rear seats are a little hard and upright, but it should be comfortable for travelling long distances. As they say, nothing's perfect, it holds true for the Tucson too. She suffers from blemishes here and there, like the plasticky feel of the control stalks and knobs. Not a good thing that, since this well-proportioned companion becomes yours only when you show her the riches, standing at the scarier side of 15lakh!
