Chandigarh, March 17, 2008: Volvo Cars, arguably the world’s safest luxury car brand has inaugurated its second dealership in the country. The dealership, Bhagat at Mohali Industrial Area, SAS Nagar was inaugurated by Mr. Paul de Voijs, Managing Director, Volvo Car India and Mr. Raj Naresh Singh, Managing Director, Bhagat. On this occasion Mr. de Voijs also honoured the first proud owner of Volvo from Punjab, Mr. A.S. Bindra of Hitech Group (Abhinav Futuristic Ltd), with a memento.
Spread over an area of 6,500 square meters, the dealership brings to life the Volvo brand values to the Indian customers. The dealership will reach out to the consumers in the entire Punjab region covering cities like Chandigarh, Amritsar, Ludhiana and Jalandhar.
Speaking on occasion Mr. Paul de Voijs, said, “Inaugurating our dealership in Chandigarh is a memorable moment for all of us at Volvo Car India. Punjab is a very important market for us as it has a huge potential for selling luxury cars and we are confident that with the opening of our dealership we will become a significant part of this dynamic market.”
“We believe all the three dealers have the necessary capability and experience to assist us in achieving our business objectives. The Volvo dealerships, designed in accordance with the brands internationally applied premium standards, present Volvo’s exclusive range to the Indian customer. All the three dealerships will have the same visual identity and design as other Volvo dealerships around the globe based on their programme - Volvo Next Face (VNF). The programme was specifically produced to create a modern and uniform appearance for Volvo’s dealers the world over.

The S80 and the XC90 cars will be available with a 24 valve 3.2 litre and 32 valve V8 4.4 litre petrol engine options and a 2.5 litre diesel (priced between Rs. 38- 44 lakhs and Rs. 45-52 lakhs respectively, ex-showroom Delhi).
