Comparison of SX4 vs Verna vs City

The best selling points of SX4 is: Road presence, Climate control, ABS, Airbags, Audio controller in steering wheel, 16 Inch Alloy and slightly better performance. All these goodies sounds very good and exciting. However, when you go inside the cabin, the interior still does not feel very rich.

I have compared this with Hyundai Verna. It neither better. Interiors are not black but it's still cheap plastic. Does not have so many goodies as SX4. Absolutely not comparable with SX4.

Then i compared with Honda city VTEC. Great/Best interior in this range and very dissapointing power. One need to struggle or wait to reach 100 kmph.

However, i felt SX4 would be a better buy and value for money than Verna/City VTEC because of it's unlimited goodies + Great and fresh looks + it's service network.

What i did not about SX4 is it's dissapointing interiors. You will see and feel cheap plastics everywhere. One need to digest these cheap plastics. This is absolutely my personnal preference.

When i heard about Optra Magnum from my colleagues, immediately i took two test drive on the otherday. One in Mission road(You know, How pathetic is the traffic in this road) and then in outer ring road(Marathalli to Sarjapur road). The power is just awesome. In no time it touched 120 Kmph. It's a rocket. I was totally thrilled. Folks, if you want to feel a powerful engine -> It's worth spending time for a test drive. :-)

City drive is very impressive too. I drove in Mission road for half an hour and it's not sluggish at all. Very Impressive.

I have compared this with Elantra, Verna CRDI. On paper, Verna CRDI sounds good, but it's too sluggist on city(bumper to bumper) drive conditions.

LT Magnum Interior looks and feels very rich with it's leather upholstry and some other nice to have goodies.

From power, city drive, highway drive, interior, milage perspective, it's a complete package. You will not feel, you have missed anything.

Of course Magnum is compared with Skoda, however i did not want to stretch my budget to even think for a test drive of Skoda as it's too expensive and the July Autocar verdict quoted "Magnum is a better vehicle than Skoda on most aspects".

Honda city is unsafe car. Altough good performace with less features at high price the car body is thin tin body.god forbid if u have an accidents u r completly unsafe in city. I hace seen an alto banging new honda city and city's full RH side crushed and hardly FEW DENTS ON ALTO.sO U CAN IMAGINE how much safe u r in this car.

Maruti Sx4 is a musuclar sedan . It has got macho looks with superb curves. The interiors are also well equipped with valuable features. Safety is not compromised either. the boot is enormous and the ground clearance is very big, which makes it the best car to drive in all road conditions, especially in monsoon with water logs on road.

Chervolet have become very aggressive and they are offering value for money car. Optra can't be neglected and indeed a beautiful car.

SX4: Petrol Engine (non V-tec) 145Nm Torque 103 BHP 13 kmpl Verna SX CRDi Diesel Engine (VGT, Variable Geometry Turbo) 240Nm Torque 110 BHP 18kmpl Head to head, Verna SX CRDi is better than SX4 in every respect, expect no Airbags in Verna. The Verna is a rocket; you have to sit in one to believe it. It can leave the SX4, Linea, Honda City, etc...far far behind on the highway. The only car more powerful than the Verna is the Optra Magnum Diesel. Regards, NCG

Hi All, Going through the same dilemma of SX4 vs Verna. Drove both the cars and here is what I feel: SX4: +ve Safety features +ve Value for money +ve Its from Maruti +ve Feels solid build -ve Driving comfort - compared to Verna -ve Noisy A/C Verna +ve Driving comfort -ve Safety features (compared to SX4) -ve (Diesel) Vibration and noise Yet to try Ford Fiesta. Not looking at NHC because of its price tag. Regards, SG

i just tell something about hondacity vs sx4 vs optra.if you compare three car then optra is beter one because due to his perfomance and commfort.if you compare verena vs honda city vs sx4.then you go for honda city.maruti is best for his good price.some nusence have written about maruti car is not better but my experience is tld that maruti is not much more less than any international car
