Now my ZDi dzire has been delivered on 03 Jun 2009.  I waited for more than three months because midway i changed my mind and upgraded my booking from VDI to ZDI.  It's really worth.  The ride is as smooth, as i expected.  It's silent too.  The AC is just awesome.  The present unbearable heat in Kolkata just can'nt touch us.  The steering mounted music controls helps u in maintaining eye contact on the road while ur changing the FM stations or volume.  The bigger tyres keeping this big veh firm on ground.  The boot for which i opted for this car is unmatched.  I compared with Honda City ZXI (Old model), My dzire is bigger than Honda.  The pickup is awesome after 2000 rpm.  U can feel the power of the engine.  The seats are also comfortable but yes rear leg room should have been more.  I have fitted windscreen films too which is a must for all the car owner and i strongly recommend.  It's having 70% heat rejection with 100% UV protection and helps in cooling faster.  The best thing I have fitted is the 4 sensor based parking sensor.  I am now worryless about reverse parking.  I am using Turbojet and have already done 500 Kms.  I am not driving more that 60 KM during the running in period as I know that this will help the engine to live longer and longer without rapid wear and tear.  The color of my car is clear baige ( Golden ) and i am also planning to have teflon coated on it before moonson sets in.  I am a happier man now with my loaded beautiful dzire which has become neighbours envy.
Hey, I have done 750 KMs and this car is giving me 18.22 KPL in city driving with 100% AC on that too in Kolkata traffic.  I am using HP Turbojet and maintaing tyre pressure 32 PSI for front and 30 PSI for rear and never drove beyond 60KM per hour.
AWESOME..............

Drive safely and wear seatbelts too.....

Hi, today i.e. on 05 Oct 2009 after completing 2000 Km, i upgraded the tyres with Goodyear F1 Eagle GSD2 series tyres with 195x60, 14 inch size.  Now the ride is more comfortable, quiter with great traction.  The first service is already done, the car is going great with no problems.

Now I am planning to install a digital tuning box for DDIS engine imported from Germany which will boost its power from 75 BHP to 94 BHP and the torque will also be increased from 190nm to 210 nm.  About 25% overall increase is expected.

Hi, again, today i drove 500 KM with four pers on board and with moderate luggage.  I did 175 KMPH ( highest speed ) and believe u me, the car was firm on ground and i beat Scorpio and Linea too.  Now after 3000 KM, i got 19.8 KM in local and 26 in high way without AC. Incredible...

Hi on 12 Jul 2010 i got  one digital tuning box fitted wich was imorted from germany. I got it thru online . Now my car's power has increased from 75 BHP to 94 BHP and economy has also got increased by 1.5KM/L. Presently i am at shillong, driving in hilly terrain in cold weather, believe u me, the tuning box has  done a miracle to my dzire, the extra power is seen in every turn and every time i push the throttle hard.{#emotions_dlg.cool}

Now after completing 10,000 KM, i have changed the complete air filter assy with Green Cotton WIND performance filter with dynamisation kit. I bought it from Pete's Automotive online and fitted it myself and the change in pickup and overall performance is manifold supplemented by the Digital tuning box.Go Green Cool

My Experience with Race Chip for skoda fabia 1.4 PD TDi

I recently fitted race chip in my newly bought fabia 1.4 PD TDi

I agree undisputedly to the fact my fabia is pretty lethargic in city drive.

The power comes only when you cross 2000 RPM.

but after fitting race chip the story is all together diffrent.

I can feel power coming up @ mere 1250 RPM.

The company says it increases power from 69 BHP to 88 BHP and torque from 155 NM to 220 NM.

I bought it online from germany.

It cost me 224 Euro ( 14222) + 3600Rs ( import duty).

Which is a lot cheaper than Pete's box ( 32000/-).

I say if you are enthusiasist about performance it's worth a try.

Will post about FE in my next post.

Hi Avi,

Thanks for the clarification. You surely have modded your Dzire to new levels. That is cool.

For my chipped Dzire, driving has surely become more fun and convenient lately. Slowly but surely the differece is now showing. Didn't feel it in the initial runs. The extra power is so much handy in city driving. Planning for a long drive to check out the highway performance. Hope it doesn't hamper the car or any of its component in any way. But as of now I am enjoying every bit of it.

The surge of power comes in about 1200 rpm which is so very welcoming. The most addictive part is the immediate thrust you get when you upshift and press the throttle even at rpms as low as 1200. Smile

Will update more soon.

Drive safe.

Hi db, u may have noticed the drastic change in acceleration because i push the throttle then the front tyres are spinning. I have also fitted Green Performance WIND filter by Pete's and changed the entire stk filter assembly. The change in performance is drastic.

U need not to remove the tuning box until unless u are going to the dealer for any warranty related issues. Don't listen to te gossips. U do not have to do any testing of the racechip. It is already tested worldwide.

Good luck

Hi Avi,

I have now been driving my Racechipped Dzire for a couple of days.

There isn't a drastic change in the characteristics but it has surely reduced the frequent gear changes in the city limits. Also the sudden loss of power whilst the gear changes has gone down. Have to check the fuel efficiency. Now I feel a little bit of more pulling power than the OE settings.

Do we really need to remove the chip before the servicing. I met one person who used to work in RaceDyanamics[they also have a custom chip worth about 20k] in Bangalore who said its not necessary to remove the chip before the regular servicing.

Now will it really void the warranty if I don't remove it before the servicing?

He also said that during the servicing you need to do some re-setting of the chip. I am not sure if the same is true for the RaceChip box.

Let me know your opinion.

Drive safe.

Hi azeez, sorry I don't think kolkata does have any good professional car mechanic like Delhi or Mumbai have. But u may try at Beckbagan.

Thanks Avijit.

You being from Kolkata, can you please suggest good Ford mechanics and good hands for modification - addresses. The official workshop at Tangra has incompetent staff ... only specialise in half diagnosis and unrequired replacements. I reside in salt lake, fyi.

thanks in anticipation.

Yes Apart from drving habits, proper maintenance of the car is also important to achieve optimum fuel efficiency. You may try K&N stk filter replacement which will help increase at least by 10%. Apart from that various modifications in intake manifold and exhaust manifold and a free flow exhaust work by professional will help u a lot. Good luck
