MARUTI SWIFT WORST EXPERIENCE IN LIFE LIST OF COMPLAINTS

In my heartful opinion swift/maruti is one of the worst companies to buy an automobile from. They lack committment and quality and are gaining profits from their previous fame leaving the customers to MISERY. I am a big faan of maruti vehicles. and especially a much bigger admirer and die hard fan of its model swift. I never knew that it was going to be the beginning of dissapointment and sadness in my life with buying of swift(ldi). I m narrating this loooong story not just to show others but also that NO OTHER PERSON SHOULD SUFFER LIKE THIS. I bought a beautiful maruti swfit ldi (diesel basic) which I have bought with lots of liking and interest since I am a die hard FAN of swift. I was shocked to find that MY CAR'S A/C AC WAS INSUFFICIENT on the very 2nd of delivery itself which has hardly driven 20kms, and when I contacted the dealer, he directed me to his workshop and the people at the service staion are such a hopeless persons that they NEVER ADMIT ANY ISSUE with a/c even though it was OBVIOUS. after multiple visits they finallly cross checked with other car and finally agreed that my car's a/c was insuffcient (thermoeter kept in the a/c vent on other swift went showed a reading of 5.4'C whereas mine stopped at startling 8.4'C only). so they took the car for repair, I conviced myself that though it was a very very new car, human errors happen and took the issue lightly. but my further resentment started after a/c was repaired, the MILEAGE FALLEN DOWN to 12kmpl (diesel) which was earlier 15kmpl (both with a/c on city drive) which again they say it depends on the person driving. WHICH IS VERY RIDICULOUS because I am the only man who drives my car. in this mean time, I gave car for 1st servicin @1000km where I hoped evrything becomes fine with the complaint of POOR MILEAGE 12kmpl, but after the service, the CAR LAGGED A LOT AND THERE WAS NO PICK UP and car used to shutdown in 2nd GEAR which I thought would improve. after weeks time it became further worse and didnt improve at all. So I have changed the workshop and took the car to a different workshop where they said ENGINE OIL LEAKED INTO TURBO AND INTERCOOLER thats why pick up was low. This new showroom guys have removed that oil but again. After doing so my car started producing very lound and blunt ENGINE NOISE which was quite uncomfortable similar to a sound that of a hole in the silencer. Apart from this steering wheel used to vibrate like a grinding machine. WITH THESE COMPLAINTS I have approached AREA/TERROTORY SERVICE MANAGER of MARUTI who represents maruti directly. He checked my vehicle and as a known fact he also NEVER ADMITTED ANY ISSUE and told nothing is wrong. HA HA BLOODY. I have paid visits umpteen times but still they wil never agree. I was lil relived when one of the old technician working in maruti showroom whom I knew told me that, excess oil will take some time to clear and the noise would subside after the oil gets relieved. And finallly i thanked god as over a period of time, sound and vibration both subsided. Bbut now a NEW ISSUE came up. WHEEL NOISE which is due to poor WHEEL BALANCING and FAULTY TYRES of swift.this time I was luck that they have agreed the problem was there and on my insisting. They changed front tyres. and after all this was over now. The CAR, STEERING WHEEL AND PEDALS SHAKE WIERDLY WHILE I DRIVE IN CITY IN TRAFFIC indicating that car is UNABLE TO TAKE LOAD. Which again they dont admit and is still goes UNRECTIFIED.

Keepin this experience in hand MULTIPLE PROBLEMS within 6000kms itself. I restate that Maruti Swift has changed a lot from its previous quality (I DIDNT MENTION ABOUT THE IRRITATING RATTLING noise inside cabin). and I think IT IS RIGHT TIME TO THINK OF OTHER ALTERNATIVE OPTIONS other than SWIFT and SWIFT IS NO BETTER THAN OTHER MODELS. And if one thinks intelligently it is not hard to find that DEMAND FOR SWIFT has made the company CARELESS AND NEGLIGENT and finally QUALITY COMPROMISED. I suggest that MARUTI SERIVE REPRESENTATIVES to shedd off OVER and SURPLUS POLITENESS INSTEAD FOCUS on real issues to solve the problems and give CUSTOMERS SATISFACTION rather than BEREAVEMENT. I am NOT a propagator for any company or any model but jus sharing my expereince so that things come to limelight. I feel the first and new car experience has been a DISASTER for me ripping me of fun and happiness ..after putting lakhs of hard earned money to fulfill the dream of buying a car. Infact I WAS one of the biggest fans of the above said company (Maruti) but now..not any moreee...and after all this my final advice to Readers is that Please look at other options instead of BLINDLY buying SWIFT, there are other cars which can offer better service and performance. looking at my STORY two of my frnds have bought other models of a different brand (not even other models of maruti) and they are very much satisfied with it..so ppl its never too late to take a right decision and the ball of destiny is in ur hands and its upto you to which side u will play ..Let the demand for swift come down and Maruti will be on their knees to set right their DEFFICIENT QUALITY AND WORST SERVICE. Aand imagine all this is happening in a metro city like Hyderabad think of plight in suburbs and towns by owning a Maruti. And they ve launched new swift to suffer the customers more. God knows how the quality of that car is. And thats all for now. I THINK IT IS TIME FOR ME TO TAKE LEGAL ACTION AGAINST MARUTI AND HOPE THINGS COME IN CUSTOMER'S WAY GIVEN THE SUCCESS RATE IN INDIAN LAW.

WITH this maruti has proven they are INEFFICIENT IN SERVICE AND RECTIFICATION OF THEIR OWN FAULT. and the answer to the question why should anyone TRUST MARUTI/SWIFT BLINDLY/ SO MUCH???? is left to us.

Its always better to avoid problem rather than rectify them. So dont simply go for swift think before u act.

looks thats all nothing elseeverything is a con, negligent manufacturing poorest quality poorest service negligent p

I've recently purchased a Red Swift - VDI early October 2011 and am pretty satisfied with the vehicle and the value of money (On road cost me Rs. 6,72,000 on road in Hyderabad). I've already completed 6300 Kms and have completed the first 2 free services. Is almost a pleasure to drive and own.

      Exterior

Pros: The Company has really given the New Swift 2011 a whole new makeover. Nice bold body lines on the outside, Bigger Head and tail lamps, Well designed front grill and much sharper edged front bumper. ORVM with indicators controlled electrically gives a superior feel.

Cons: Bigger bumper makes it look slightly odd when compared to the proportion of the other features/fittings on the back. Better Ground Clearance would have been a good differentiating factor from it's predecessor. Rear tail lamp design extend outside the lines of the metal body making it more susceptible to be hit by wandering 2 wheelers around the rear of your car in peak traffic. ABS missing in the mid variant was a real bummer considering that upgrading to their top model almost cost just about 1 Lakh more on road. Build quality of metals not as superior and heavy as the Polo.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

Pros: The finer lines, inclusion of chrome finish on the dashboard, doors and steering in the VDI gives it a more plusher look for a Indian Hatchback model. Electrically operated ORVM is a plus point with the additional features of Key reminder, head lights still ON when leaving the car and low fuel warning sounds. Newer design for the AC Vent Grill. Sliding cup holder for the co-passenger, an all new speedo LED display with Kms to empty tank are like additional goodies in the Sweet bag.

Space for the driver and front co-passenger is comfy but that for the rear although slightly enhanced from the previous model is still not a wow factor.

Cons: Smaller parcel tray with an indent making it slightly difficult to fix rear audio system in models which lack an integrated music system. Driver seat height adjuster should have been a standard feature.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

Pros:  Pickup seemed amazing before the first service. Assume that this will be fine over time of using the vehicle. Fuel economy was at 14.3 kmpl for the first tank fulls of 42 litres. For the next it gave me about 15.5 kmpl which seemed decent with AC in city conditions. Am yet to try by luck with mileage on the highway.

      Cons:

Gearbox seems better than the earlier version. Reverse gear seems to have a problem at times which doesnt shift at the first attempt (could be the way i use the reverse).

      Ride Quality & Handling

Pros:  No body roll when taking sharper turns at higher speeds. Suspension feels better with the steering response better than the earlier version.

Cons: Braking is an issue at high speeds which might make one insecure about pushing the engine and yet being ready for the odd speed bump or unforseen animal or vehicle needing you to come to a sudden halt. Brake Assist and ABS should have been a must at least for the mid variant which is currently missing in LDI and VDI versions.

Final Words A good value for money but could have done better with certain features - something as basic as good braking.

      Areas of improvement

      - Better Brake assist

      - Better Pickup at lower speeds.

      - More features for the price quoted

      - Should have had an optional variant with ABS like before.

Better styled interiors, quality plastics, Decent Mileage.Should have had ABD with mid variants, needs better boot space, Braking issues at high speeds.

Exterior Not much difference than old model. Length old 3760 new 3850 increase in 9cm. figo l -3795. wheelbase-old swift 2390,new-2430.increse in 4cm. But for figo, wheel base is 2489, 5.9cm more than even the new swift. that means more space for passengers in figo. Width old swift-1690mm, new 1695. difference is only half cms. For figo width 1680, without orvm. same as ritz. more width of swift is wasted in its bulky shape and has not contributed to interior space. The horizontal lenth of seats of new swift is same as figo and ritz. height old swift and new 1530. figo height 1427. boot space old swift 232l, new 210l, figo massive 284l.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Dash board of new swift looks very premium than old model and figo. New passenger side cup holder, bottle holder on rear doors, boot opener on dash board[figo was first to introduce this feature in small cars]. silver inserts in dash and door opener looks good. silver inserts around ac vents at centre looks good.but this is available only in vxi/vdi. Rest of all features  of figo and swift vxi /vdi are same. Additional feature of vdi swift is tiltable steering. Zxi gets steering mounted audio controls. Additional feature of figo thaan swift include rear wash wiper, drivers seat height adjust, [only in zxi of swift], cargo area lamp[absent in swift even in zxi], speed sensing volume control aided music system[only in zxi/zdi of swift]. Music system has blue tooth connectivity in figo not in any version of swift.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox For performance there is no match for fiat based ddis engine.[i own a ritz with the same engine and a figo petrol zxi versions]. In swift the diesel and petrol  engines are slightly tuned.the sudden gush of torque felt in old swift/ritz is slightly diminished in the new swift diesel.petrol engine better tuned than old one. Suspension of mew swift improved which enhances sporty ride. Figo's engine cannot match both petrol and diesel engines in performance. Diesel figo is more powerful than petrol.

Ride Quality & Handling Here figo scores more than swift in my opinion.figo feels more planted with less body roll.u can throw the car around the corners with much confidence.figo,s hydraulic power assisted steering is more accurate and responsive than swifts electric power steering.stability is also much more in figo.the light weight of swift has a tendency to go out of control at high speeds.

Final Words If u want a car with performance, image and sporty shape, go for swift.but if u want a practical and value for money car with good solidly built body, with more boot space and passenger space including more features go for figo.mileage for swift and figo diesels are almost the same.

Areas of improvement In case of swift the metal used for body is very light and get damaged by slight hit.the use of polymer plastic petrol/diesel tanks is not agood move.shedding of nearly 30kgs from the car has affected stability at high speed and strength of the vehicle. for figo the interior should be made more premium like swift. again the engines are not powerful enough to completely utilise the chasis strength. the engines do their job neatly but are not frugal for sporty ride. but ride quality and control are really good than swift. finally for swift the pricing is very high compared to figo. swift vdi on-road price is 6,17288 that too without musuc system, rear wash wiper etc.zxi/zdi 7,01853. with this price u can comfortably but a diesel sedan say swift desire.figo zxi diesel on-road price is 5,74000 including drivers seat height adjust, music system with blue tooth, rear wash viper etc.the top end diesel titanium is only neraly 6,30000.only difference is figo titanium doesnt have steering mounted audio controls. so now its upto customers to decide.

interior look more premiumsoft metal body, space

Exterior Not much changes with old model. atleast the height of vehicle could have increased to give more headroom. But the metal used for body is soft and get damaged easily. For indian conditions maruti should opt for a hard metal for body construction.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Dash looks good. A new cupholder on passenger side front, good looking ACvents, button for boot opener on driver side. Looks more premium.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine remains the same with slightly tuned for better performance, And fuel efficiency.

Ride Quality & Handling Same as old model. The difference is the new suspension set up which facilitates the sporty nature.

Final Words The increase in dimension have added more leg n knee room compared to old model.but yet its no match for figo in leg space, luggage space ride and handling.figo feels more planted with less  bodyroll.moreover figo feels more solid built both in its body frame where hard metal is used.only negative is, figo's interior doesnt look more premium compared to swift.but figo is more value for money and more practical.since most people dont use cars as race cars figo's performance is reasonable.maruti's experiment with a polymer petrol tank also doesnt seems to be a good move for swift buyers as it can cause safety issues in an accident situations.again, shedding nearly 30kg from a car means use of light metal and more plastic which again reduces the solidity of vehicle.less weight means the car will have tendency to be out of control at high speeds.and price too has increased nearly 30 -40,000 compared to old model.dont think its a sensible buy when you get more spacious car like figo for reasonable price. distance to empty feature which gives an idea of exact km the car can actually run on available fuel, which is the highlight of figo is not provided in swift.figo in zxi trim has got more features than swift vxi/vdi models with less price.and ford is now planning to improve its interoir is a good news for figo's market.so i think figo is more value for money than swift.

Areas of improvement Body quality, price, interoirv space. shuld be more practical hatch.

Interior better with good plastic quality compared to old.looks more premiumVery soft metal body.could get damaged by a small hit.

Exterior On the first look,You see the very same swift we have all come to love. But when you look carefully, it has changed...and changed a lot.A bigger platform, wider wheelbase and a similier grill box are just starters.the grill cuts into the bonnet with such finesse and the lines on the bonnet gives the car a meatier look than before. The headlights sweep back beautifully and occupy most of the front side...the taillights are also coming to a sweeping curve into the body. The rear bumper has gotten higher and overall you see a sportier, younger and trendier swift!

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interiors have undergone a sea-change from the dull and drab looking ones to a more stylish and youthful design.Heavily inspired from Kizashi, the waterfall central console gives it a plusher feel. The plastics used are of a much better quality than before, though the side panels too need better switches to match! The Zdi and Zxi variants are richer by the nippon audio system and set of 6 speakers( of which 2 are tweeters!) with steering integrated audio controls. It boasts aslo of an intelligent voulme control that senses outside noise(so they say!)An Automatic climate control adds to the whole feeling. The 90 mm increase in space is evident in the backseat.also the front seat design too makes it a comfortable drive.A major frustration though is the lack of bluetooth connectivity and maruti needs to address this customer concern ASAP.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The Diesel variant comes with the same DDiS Fiat engine that has served us deligently for so long.75 BHP of power maynot seem a change, but it still is the best in its class.

The alloys are 15-inch and dont look the part. The 17-inch alloys we saw on the swift on intrnet are for european markets. But when you think about it,with the condition of indian roads,a 15-inch alloy is not so bad.

Ride Quality & Handling When it comes to performance,it is simply more swift. The Diesel engine though same, has been worked on and tuned to match the indian customer. Though you may go for the gearshaft quite often,it still packs a punch. The rally based suspension adds to the whole drive and when you take it around tight corners, you will just love it!!!The polymer based fuel tank makes the new diesel swift 15 kilos lesser than its older one,but it has become a better, more responsible and fun-to-be with car now!

Final Words A very well-known and best selling car has just gotten better! So much is the Audacity of the Maruti Suzuki that they comlpetely stopped a best-seller to revise and update the swift...but all said and done,it is a very good vehicle. go for it!

Areas of improvement Bluetooth Connectivity(!!!),Boot space-or a 60:40 split rear seat has to be there.

Plusher interiors, better handling, option of ZDi,subtle tweaks on the exteriorboot space is lacking,Bluetooth connectivity is nowhere,no 17-inch alloys on the car!

Iam a fan of swift long back , unfortunately i got a change to buy Swift VXi. Its main problem is breaking system. While driving slowly in 1st gear, with half clutch and try braking (like in city bumper to bumper traffic). Or try reversing slowly and braking gently brakes become ineffective and the pedal becomes hard. You cant stop the car unless u use hand break. Many of the buyers facing this issue and many met with an accident too, even Iam one among them.

Its just 3 week i got my new Swift VXi , today I slightly hit a bike in a congested traffic when I went for a U turn.My car was in 1st gear with half clucth and break to move little by little, after two push to the break pedal, it become hardened and stuck, but Iam seeing the car was moving and hitting the bike ,soon my wife in side applied the hand break else it would have caused a huge accident.I am now really scare to take the car in traffic. We should take this issue in a bigger form and fight it together with Maruti to fix it or return the whole money back.

Raised complaints ,Maruti is clueless for this issue to resolve. So please be safe in road and traffic. Please opt some thing else.you can reproduce the same in the swift while ur test drive.

While purchasing the vehicle from Maruti customer should read the documents properly they are asked to sign and should not sign the blank forms. As these documents will act as a trap for customer when they face any issues afterwards.

      Areas of improvement

Company should take customer's complaints or suggestions seriously by taking appropriate action on it.

Company should take actions on false commitement from delear rather than encouraging delear by backing them for the false commitement.

Company should stop giving reason like production issue as excuse for all the customer queries as they are not accepting any excuses from customer.

Cumpony should teach their executive and distributor to treat customer with honour as customer is paying for the vehicles they own.

Maruti should work on their policies they follow with the distributor to decrease the malpractises done from the delear.Right now Maruti has strong documentation/policies for customer but not for distributor.Maruti should include some clauses for distributor as well in the order form.

Vehicle is good but Maruti has to work on keeping customers faith intact with company.Maruti ensure that customer will pay for the losses whether they are caused by mistakes from delear.

Exterior It’s more or less similar to the old one but still the new version is a bit better than the old one, especially on the rear side. I like the kind of design where the model looks a bit bulky and looks bigger than it actually is, like vista and swift. So for me this one is perfect.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) For the driver and co-driver side space is no problem at all. The seats are comfortable and can be adjusted according to the requirement. The plastic quality is good, but still a beige interior would have been more effective I guess. The rear seats are good but still not as specious as "LEVA" and moreover the small windows add up to it gives you a bit cooped up feel. The new multi functional display is excellent and can give you the track of fuel economy and distance to empty. But the problem is the distance to empty works only when there is a pre defined amount of fuel in the tank (4 or 6 lts and above).

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox This is the best engine in its class (all hatch backs) the engine is very powerful and silent as well. The car is stable at high speed. The gear shift is precise and power delivered is uniform. But with AC on and at low speeds in 1st or 2nd gear i felt the power is not leaner (may be because of my driving style) you can feel some jerk. As far as fuel economy is concerned I got 14.7 in city with AC and 15.8 on highway again with AC. The car is yet to get its first service, so hopefully these figures will improve.

Ride Quality & Handling The ride quality is excellent; the car can take sharp corners without much of body roll.  The only thing i noticed is that the NVH level can be still better, there is bit of tire and suspension noise audible inside, especially on cement roads or bad patches.

Final Words Go for it but only when you are ready to compromise a bit on space. The boot is very small. But when you drive the car it makes it forget everything else.

Areas of improvement Space in the rear and boot.

Looks, Engine power, Fuel economy, Build QualitySpace in the rear, not as silent as i10 or i20

I bought new swift LDI 1 month back and would like to share my  honest opinion:

      Exterior Looks above average.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Looks average , total black will  cause more  heat absotbtion to the interior, real leg room is very small, boot space is wafer thin and most dangerous thing is poor visibility on corners due to bad rear view mirror and pillar design. A/C seems decent.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Performance Not upto the mark, pick up is not adequate, need frequent gear shift, engine struggles with a little speed down, gear shift seems decent , except the reverse which some time not accurate.

The instant fuel consumption reading seems manupulated , i dont know how they measure, by flow measurement? It jumps from 7KM/l to 24 suddenly when you shift gears, how it possible.

Poor Braking, the hand brake is good for nothing.

Ride Quality & Handling Bumpy ride( horrible) on uneven surface , seems the suspention is too rigid , not good for family.

Final Words Actually swift disel is much hyped car than it is actually . Maruti is taking undue advantage of this hype and keep inceasing the price. Not a VFM car anymore.

Areas of improvement Total revamp is required.

Feel SolidBumpy ride, poor visibility on corners, rigid suspension, rear leg space is small, small boot
