You can take this car to any part of India in full confidence that it can be repaired anywhere and its parts are available anywhere. The car is very rugged and rarely breaksdown. Five people can sit in this car very comfortably. You can also convert it to work with LPG and still have lots of boot space left over.

It has all the fancy stuff that are usually found in more expensive cars viz: power steering, keyless entry, central locking, power windows, child lock, mid seat arm rest, adjustable seats and so on....

Great economy, Parts easily available, Cheap to maintainunsophisticated interiors

Esteem is one model which i dont think Maruti will ever phase out, coz its a car which is simple yet classy and an amazing fuel efficiency and last but not the least the pick-up which is phenomenal for a car with not a very pwerful engine as compared to the other biggies in the segment!

On the whole Esteem is a OWNER's PRIDE and stress free car as it is light on the pocket.

I choose Esteem for the reason that this car is made by a reputed car manufacturer and being sold in the market for the last 15 years hence a proven model and value for money.

The service net work of Maruti one of the largest and the availability of Spares.

I am getting around 15 in city by using AC judiciously. Now the new Esteem has excellent pick up.So far NO

 The only thing which suprises me is why the company stopped production of this CAR.

Areas of improvement

Hiya To All Fellow Drivers;

Its been several years now since I bought my Maruti Esteem VX (white), but I still have not gotten tired of it, its age and looks notwithstanding; and this says a lot about the car, doesn't it?  Doesn't it??

Okay, if you haven't got it, let me dwell on the features I like about the Esteem just a wee bit.

One definite factor for which the Esteem gets my thumbs-up is the engine; its power is matched by no other in its class (I should know; I've driven every available car model sold in India!).  Power is especially important during crucial moments like when overtaking other vehicles where there is little space either for time or the traffic.  Safety, or a lack of it, is obviously the primary concern for every sober driver (as opposed to a drunk/wasted/blown/splattered/smashed/plastered/pickled/bombed/bevvied/tipsy/tiddley/inebriated/legless/crocked driver), and hence this powe-engine feature becomes indispensable.

I have time, and space, to highlight the only one feature of the Maruti Esteem above but, mark  me words, take my word for it or you could very well end running around for insurance claims and the like, which we all, sober drivers only, thoroughly detest/loathe having to go through!!!!

Have a nice and safe drive today, and also tomorrow and the days after!!!  HIC!!!!

Fair fuel economy; kick-ass-power engine; okay styling; brilliant control response; smooth & gentle!Uninspiring interiors; better/more powerful AC needed; could do with an Electronic Fuel Indicator!!!

Buying experience: Esteem car is really awesome. All the new & used vehicle i used up till now is my favourite car. On the highway,i give average 18to19 & give 14to16 in city. it's a different fun to run. The car that Maruti Suzuki has made so far, is the first car esteem has been favourite car.
Riding experience: Riding experience so good. Enjoy full and very fast car and very useful car. Very smooth ride. No pollution car.
Details about looks, performance etc: Performance to good. Pickup very good. Look is very very sweet.
Servicing and maintenance: Every 10k service. And maintenance is very lowest.

If you are seriously considering to car and can afford more than the small cars like Zen and Santro. Esteem is the car for you. Dont you worry about spending your hard earned money on buying this car coz it is money well spent.

I bought one in 2005 from a friend of mine who had to relocate to Singapore and had to dispose off his 5 month and 2000 Kms old car. I owned a Zen before that and loved my car then. But this was a mouth watering offer since I was getting a Brand New Car (almost) for a second hand price which I could not reject. I have no regrets for taking that decision then.

I got it converted to Gas and am using it since then. I am done around 38000 Kms now and am very pleased with it.

The maintenance cost is almost negligible since it seldom goes beyond Rs 1500 on a regular service after every 5000 Kms. I dont know if I am lucky to this one or all the ithers are the same. But I have had similar opinions from other Esteem owners.

I have never met a person who dis agrees with my opinion till now on this.

Now the Cons: Well the design is out dated and maybe look like 1990's car. The Interiors are not that great. The ground clearence could have been better. The engine sometimes seems to be under powered for what the car looks like.

I strongly recommend it for people who would like to go for a big car for the first time and are thinking about spending their hard earned money.

Esteem is all about Economy!

Economical, Descent Family Car, Less Hassles, No Nonsence and a Safe Bet.The Styling is dated, Feel under power sometimes.

This is the car which is for the middle-class family, and you know what ?? This is the sedan car and fulfils a luxurious drive and guess what it is a five-seater car at just rupees under 5 lakhs. Awesome car smooth engine and completely amazing car. This car is the legend car of the sedan market.

I am using Maruti Esteem Di (Diesel) of 2001 model. It is giving almost 19kmpl on long drives. It is really great to get this milage after running 93500 km.

Also it has great pickup. Only thing I didn't like in the car is its seats. They are very low which is a bit uncomfortable. But consdering all other features, I can say that this is the best car for Indians due to its milage, pickup. As it is a diesel model it is the best for Indian, because now a days petrol cost is going very high in Indian market. No surprises even if petrol cost reaches 200/liter

But very sad thing is Maruti has stopped this product. I am not sure why Maruti has stopped this car. If Maruti releases the car again, I would like to purchase this car again.

Also I can confidently say many of the people will like this car and will definitely purchase it if gets released again.
