The comparison by KK is very good. It brought out the difference between the two cars very well. I have a CIVIC 1.8V MT for the past one year. Over all it is good and very comfortable. Lower height was never been a problem for me. As long as I am aware and careful in tackling the humps on the road. Whole one year it would have scraped the underbelly only twice.
But its low end torque is a concern for me. Meaning more gear changes, over a period of time I got used to it.

Hi Manish, Yes both the cars are good but CIVIC is the one which gets my consent. And as far as the groungd clearence is concerned.. CIVC and Corolla both are 170 mm. Also in this segemnt all the cars are of the same ground clearence. Even the higher cars(SX4 etc) are 175 mm. so that does not make much a difference.

Hi Manish, The reason you are confused is that both are great products. You will not go wrong with either. Ground clearance in major cities is not a big issue. If it is you might want to look at a different segment.
Are you a driver or a passenger. Are you aggressive or conservative. That probably will help you decide. It is more an emotional decision than an intellectual one. I personally like Honda much more than Toyota.

The comparision between Corolla and Civic is very confusing. I want to buy a Civic but considering Indian roads, its ground clearance is a major deterrent. Corolla on the other hand is soon to be replaced with a new version.
