Hi all!
It has been 2 months since I own this Tavera ssd1-7 seater.
The layout is good and looks better than the 8 seater. The 7-seater has 4 pushback seats and these seats have adjustable Lumbar supports. Can drive for any long hours and u wont feel tired!!!
Mileage is good. I get an average of 10+ with AC in the city (CHENNAI) and 15 (14-15) with AC on highways.
The triple row AC is good and the space inside is sufficient for 9 (though its a 7 seater)
The worst part that spoils the whole show is the suspension.
The engine is powerfull enuf to drag the vehicle to above 110kmph but the suspension is not. It has leaf springs and transmits the entire profile of the road to the passengers.
This makes it not good for owning. Hope Chevy makes some changes on this part.Innova seems to be better in this (suspension) aspect. But the last row leg-room (thighs do not rest) suffers in Innova.
The speakers provided (OEM Kenwood) sounds very good. Replaced the Head unit with JVC dvd/usb and its a need for MUV.
Everything is fine till date except for the suspension which is expected to be better over time (as dealers suggest)

the car was delivrd wid tires at 42psi. We were cursing the suspension and repenting for the choice. Then later we found the fault and rectified it. But the mileage started suffering. 42 psi 15 kmpl - cruise and a/c - skids on sudden braking - hard suspension 30psi - 14kmpl - skids on sudden braking - hard suspension 28psi 13kmpl safe-no skidding bumpy suspension 26psi 12.5 kmpl safe and good suspension city drive 8-9kmpl (idling a/c mostly used) Mileage is said to improve after 5000km of

u need to bargain heavily. Its a good choice though innova seems to be a better buy(from hear-say) The control, manuvering and brakes of tavera in city is very good. Its not like the usual diesel. I found driving it in the city to be easier than my ZEN. We (my family of 6) had been on a long journey for 3 days and none of us were tired (around 955kms in 3 days on a mix of bad and good roads). No back pains at all. We are looking forward for our next trip.

Hi people!!! well if u r here looking to buy a tavera or not then u r in the right place... The suspension has smoothened and its good enough. The mileage is said to improve over time now. The tires needs to be inflated to 26 psi (but mileage suffers (12.5 with a/c and cruise) anything higher than this and u will enjoy the poor suspension and skids while braking heavily. 28psi seems to be safe though u might experience slight bumps and brakes are safe with better mileage (13 with a/c in cru
