I HAVE PURCHASED THE AVEO-UVA IN THE MONTH OF OCTOBER,2007 AND I AM TOTALLY SATISFIED FROM THE CAR BECAUSE OF ITS FUEL ECONOMY, IT IS GIVING ME APPROX 14-15 KMS/LITER IN CHANDIGARH WITH AC. IT IS THE BEST CAR IN ITS CLASS DUE TO PERFORMANCE, STYLE, FUEL ECONOMY AND INTERIORS, VALUE FOR MONEY. THANKS GENERAL MOTORS.

Dear All,

I drive a mid-2006 Aveo 1.4 sedan (not U-VA). The car has done 57000km till now. I haven't really faced any big problem so far. However, I must say that somewhere, GM does compromise on the quality of OEM parts, possibly to keep costs down. For example, the fuel pump conked the other day and when it was opened, the OEM part was of inferior quality as to what I could find in the replacement market. I think the same is the case with parts such as AC Compressor etc., as I have friends who have faced similar problems. The bottomline is that if you want to own a GM car, please make sure that you service it regularly and keep it up-to-date. Otherwise, the OEM parts can give way, leading to costly repairs. Overall, GM cars (basically since they are all Daewoo, except the Cruze) tend to feel a little flimsy as compared to rivals. Having said that, Maruti is also flimsy, but you get the feeling that they are put together better. The quality of materials used inside the car is very good and well wearing, plus the designs are very contemporary (the 2006 Aveo is still up there with the best, in 2011). The ride and handling is just OK; nothing great. I get about 10kmpl with AC in the city and about 14kmpl on the highway in the 1.4 Aveo, which is not all that great either! I have kept the car only because in a year or so, I plan to upgrade and this car will go to my home in Kerala as a stand by. If I were to look at re-sale value, I would have sold it by now!

Dear Mr. Shanker, I am planning to buy UVA. However, after having through some of the reviews on mouthshut I would like to verify about some of the facts. 1) What about the reverse gear? Is it problematic? 2) Do you see the reflection of the dashboard on your windscreen? 3) Can you clearly see the speedometer while driving? 4) What about an i10? Are thee two comparable and which one is a better one?

Dear all, We decided to go for aveo-uva in comparison to swift for the design and workmanship. We have our UVA from Talera Motors in March 2008.GM's goodwill prompted me to go for UVA compared to swift. My doubt regarding service got cleared after 1.5 years experience at pune as they were much co-operative. The vehicle is good for control in almost all traffic situations and I feel it a handy four wheeler.Locally I am getting 10.5 to 12.5 kM average locally.Reverse gear requires lubrication.RG

Even highest selling cars companies are having problems in their cars, the main reason was people don't had any option other than one or two car makers. But now there are many good car companies here UVA is real value for money 4L on road . GM India sales increasing month after month.

hi pradeep, punto a head of time for Indian market. If u like buy rite now, maybe you 'll get imported version of it. since, new-swift 'll take months to come with the features of punto may few extra like vgt/six-gear. if u want to wait then for jan2010.
