Advantages

  • Decent overall comfort
  • good interiors
  • Reliability
  • Value for money

Disadvantages

  • Dated looks
  • bouncy ride on bad roads

The Accent is a good value-for-money sedan. It looks dated and only the petrol GLS variant is available. But still looks impressive and does carry the stature of a sedan. The styling cuts and the profile are typical of a sedan with excellent build quality.

The engine on offer is a 1.4l that delivers 95bhp at 5500rpm. It delivers a good output and response that adds to the excellent ride quality. The suspension is not properly tweaked to city conditions. This does not take anything away from the stability at high speed for a comfortable cruise on a long drive. The same goes with the handling as well which is very potent.

The package is very good overall. But what really stood out with the introduction of the Accent was the CRDi which is no longer on offer. The petrol version still has a lot to prove so as to establish itself as a strong contender. The mileage figures are around 9kpl within the city and 13kpl on the highway. This is alright and would depend on individual preferences and usage.
