I am having a Palio 1.9D 2004 MODEL. I purchased it last year as second hand at a cost of Rs.2,48,000/- in a view that FIAT VEHICLES ARE GOOD AND MAY NOT CREATE PROBLEMS.BUT IT IS SAD TO SAY THAT IT IS ALWAYS CREATING PROBLEMS WITH F.I.P,OVER HEAT ,OIL LEAKS ETC....I HAVE SPENT RS 40,000/-FOR REPAIRS AFTER PURCHASE BUT THE PERFORMANCE IS NOT GOOD TILL NOW.NOW I FEEL THAT I HAVE MADE A GRAVE MISTAKE BY SELECTING A SECOND HAND FIAT CAR(ONLY 4 YEARS OLD).WHEN EVER 1.9D IS ON THE ROAD NO GOOD COMMENTS WILL BE MADE FROM ITS OWNERS.SO HOW CAN FIAT SELL MORE AND MORE VEHICLES IN INDIA AS THEY MAY STOP PRODUCTION OF ANY MODELS AT ANY TIME AND THE OWNERS WILL FACE DIFFICULTIES.

    BY YOUR CAR IS NOT PERFORMING WELL, I HAVE 2003 FAIT PALIO 1.9D AND ALSO HAVING 2002 PALIO PETROL BOTH OF MY CARS IS DOING WELL AND PREFER TO BUY PUNTO IN DIESEL, I HAVE DRIVEN MORE THAN 50 - 60 DIFFERENT EUROPEAN AND AMERICAN CARS IN LAST 20 YEARS, EVEN BMW X5, MERCEDEZ 350 ML, AUDI AND SO MANY. IN THIS SEGMENT CARS, PALIO IS THE BEST CAR BUT NEED FULL CARE AND NEED TO BE MAINTIAN WITH ORIGINAL PARTS. MAY THE FIRST OWNER IS NOT A GOOD DRIVER.

    i am also using palio diesel 2004 model. no doubt it is a great car, and it has to be carefully maintained. but when the people who sold this car (fiat india) are not interested in maintaining this, what can be done then.spares are costly and not available easily and service is pathetic. inspite of all this if someone advocates it, hats off to him.

    I use a 1.9D 2004 ELX Its an amazing vehicle, if you see people talking bad about fiat its their lack of knowledge about the fiat engines and the body, you get it serviced once with the original parts in a reputed service center and then you see what a PALIO is you will be proud to be driving one.If you see NONE of the cars that are coming now has a engine like fiat,and the most running cars which the so called PEOPLE talk good about they run on FIAT Engines,u shud be lucky to b a FIAT Owner

    Its realy a great car, very god performance low engine vib inside the cabin good breaking good control everything is good except spare cost, which is not much like american cars(ex. Ford)
