It was in Jan when I set my mind to buying a new SUV, I had spent a months researching and evaluating different type of cars to choose something to suit my needs which were:
*Power and strength
*Reliability
*Suitable for long Drives
*Off-roading/trips
*decent fuel economy
all this with a budget of under 10 lacs
Also, the factor to consider was to avoid repeating my previous BIG mistake..that was to go for anything like the safari, which was a real pain to maintain. it bleeded my pockets as it broke down everytime.. selling it off gave me a huge sense of relief!
The launch of the new [mighty muscular 2009] scorpio got me interested but I was quite skeptical in the beginning. But looking into the details and getting a few reviews personally from a few people really gave me a strong feeling about this car and about how it might just be the ONE!
The
interiors are well done and are as good as the safari with a few nice touches added to make it look impressive.
The
maneuvering and power of the vehicle is something you feel it as soon as you start revving the engine, the handling is brilliant with climbs and no wonder these scorpio and mahindra jeep owners wrestle at their great escape events.. great stuff!
Long drives are very smooth in a scorpio, it
never breaks down-- even in the toughest conditions. Good roads, Bad roads, potholes, rocks, slippery surfaces...the wheels keep grinding like an engine and they obey nothing but the driver-- which can be experienced when you hit the brakes at even high speeds. the feeling of complete control over your car and the road is simply amazing. With a scorpio I really feel like im dominating the road!
Now, its really got me thinkin..about their tagline "nothing else will do" :)
The fuel economy is perfect and the micro-hybrid start-stop tech thing is not just fancy, but it works decently.Mahindra service standards have greatly improved over the years and definitely 10 times better than the tata ones.
Gettin the SCORP was the best decision I made; the power, the torque and the handling and the mileage..perfectly balanced out with the macho muscular looks ..all supported by the mahindra brand which is now creating waves in the world..with launches in australia, US... the new world-class SUV coming up next year. A forbes fab50 company... Expect nothig else!
