Bought this Honda Civic (1.8 E MT) and was disappointed (poor and deliberately false information given by authorized dealer Ace Honda in Noida).  What is worse is that Honda has given a heavy, bulky Owner's manual of 376 pages out of which 70% of the pages are devoted to left-hand drive countries (Europe, etc.).  India is right-hand drive country and the information available is sketchy, confusing, chaotic.  Was this car rejected by Europe and dumped into the Indian market??? Perhaps, Yes and Honda didn't even bother to update the information that is relevant to India.

HONDA has NO "VALUE for MONEY":
Honda cars are over-priced for the quality they deliver. The hype generated by Honda in media is so high that Indian customer does get cheated but for how long?!
If Honda were to reduce value of their cars by 60% (sixty percent) then perhaps, a customer may feel that their product has 'value for money'.
Recently, Honda CRV was a super-flop as they tried to sell a vehicle that was about Rs. 20 lakhs but Toyota's Innova with just Rs.8 lakhs cost was much better

    Hi Pritam,
Can you mention about the concerns you have with Civic, is there any problem with the car or is it the value for money reason you are concerned? I am in the process of buying one and want to know of any issue this model has.

Few months ago, TIME magazine printed an article about Japanese government's anger on Honda's habit of hiding Japanese customer complaints which is against the Japanese law. The Japanese customers have found Honda vehicles' performance and Honda Company's professionalism below average.

It is about time Indian customer should wake up as Honda has taken it for granted to whom they can dump any product at any cost. Though Japanese exports have declined, nevertheless Honda increased vehicles cos

People in power (Indian government) I know, say that perhaps Honda paid for elections in April/May and jacked up price of all vehicles in April'09. Did Honda pay from its pocket: NO, NO, NO. Did Honda ROB its Indian customers: YES, YES, YES....Honda can buy Indian government but can't buy Japanese government.

the only thing I felt that was wrong about the civic was its ground clearance when it comes to Indian roads... rest all is fine.. I am planning to buy one soon.. and the only thing am researching on is the cost of maintenance. the more complex a vehicle, the more maintenance it requires... in India foreign brands are expensive due to the import duty on parts, that's why Maruti sells....

Labour cost in Honda service station is nearly 7 to 10 times of that available in Sector 16, Noida or other place in Delhi. Now, that labour is neither imported nor there is import duty on labour. Why labour cost can't be competitive or reasonable???

i agree with the fact tat quality is an issue i bought a honda accord v6 after just 1 week the fuel gauge metre stopped working. skoda is the worst option if you are planning to buy it,you will really regret bcoz of its high maintenance.my octavia ac stopped functioning after 3years and skoda people are demanding 40k for its repairing.plus after the free services there will be a big hole in your pocket for there service charges.as just the oil change will be for 3500 plus taxes
