Definitely the most stylish and incredible SUV at this price point. Rubbishing claims that its 'not a true Pajero' all parts and engine is made in Japan and only assembly is done in Chennai. Interiors are near perfection with leather seating, excellent lamps for bright light, car charger with independant laptop charger, illuminated key socket (looks cool), cup holders, toolbox embedded in back door (just in case) with inclusion of altimeter, barometer, inclinometer and outside temperature reading gadgets. Overall interiors compared to old Pajero are many leaps ahead and more than what u need really.

Exteriors are classy and it has deadly road presence. Off-road capability doesnt even need to be compared or mentioned so ill skip that one.

Overall an incredible SUV that is a status symbol and has the best ride and handling coz the car is heavy (almost 3000 kg) and sticks to the road giving an incredibly comfortably ride eating bumps and potholes. It can easily be handled because of the powerful 2.8 liter engine and gives an awesome feeling while taking a turn. The only thing is at a price of 23 lacs plus interest (if taken on installment) its definitely not a poor mans car but definitely worth the extra money if u can afford it for the experience and reliability of a Pajero.

What a nice review it actually made me test drive the car..Now im totally in love with it and agree to everythin u say akshay. Its got a very sturdy feel even more than a skoda which was my personal favourite in that area. Had i not read this review i woudnt even know the Pajero has been totally revamped inside outside. For some reason popular car magazines that i always refer to have not updated their review on the Paj. I think they really should now after reading this..

the pajero model sold in india is 6-8 years old.....it costs about 10 lakh in nepal....sold for 20 lak in India (god knows why).
The engine has 2 valves per cylinder compared to 4 valves in most competitors.
its off road ability is unmatched...but the price hindustan motors is charging is unrealistic for a car this old.

Hi arjun..firstly all cars are cheaper in nepal. The pajero sold in india is definitely worth it coz of the 2.8 litre turbo engine coz its powerful and does not matter if its 2 valves or 4..The quality of materials used in it is extremely high. Everything is imported from Japan. Also they are giving a high end kenwood ipod compatible system and leather seating and everything possible like reliable 4x4, abs, ebd, air bags, alloy wheels, inclinometer, barometer, altimeter etc.

Cars are cheaper in Nepal but for 10 lakh u get a Mini-Pajero.The 2.8 liter sold in India is the best Paj for the price. It has better off-roadability than Montero coz approach angle to hill capability is higher in 2.8 model. The only thing 6 yrs old is the engine reason being its the same one used around the world yet coz its perfectly reliable n powerful i.e can get u out of muck etc easily so u not stuck in rains n u can go over dividers if u hav 2!In india u get a fully-loaded Paj as standard

I need to make a decision between Pajero and the new Ford Endeavour. Any advise/suggestions would be truly appreciated. I am a die hard fan of the off-roading capabilities of a Pajero though. I am just a little inclined towards the Ford Endeavour because of the improved 143 PS / 33 kg-m torque that it offers as opposed to 119 PS / 30 kg-m torque offered by Pajero. Looking foward to your comments/suggestions. Thanks.

this car has been tailor made fo the screwed up roads in india one hell of a off roader killer machine and moderate styling i am also going to be a proud owner soon

average can range between 8-11 depending how n where u drive..very attractive looks specially the red color whch is killer!! looks better than all the other cars in my bldg..even the merc and camry :) In short a pajero has its own charm and nobody can deny that..as for performance it gets muchh smoother after 1st service it can literally fly like a sports car in the 3rd gear onwards coz of the highly efficient turbo but i would recommend cruising in it thats when u enjoy a really comfy ride..

I agree with Vishwas. I acn't take my eyes out of RED Pajero. Looks wise, Pajero is much better than Montero which is 31 lakhs ex-show room though Montero is a brilliant vehicle in terms of performance and luxury. As vishwas said, it can stand out from other SUVs in india, the only thing that can come closer to it is Toyoto Land Cruiser

pajero&cr-v,captiva are of a totol different segment i have been a die hard fan of pajero since years..this car may lack in performance but is the most reliable.. this is used by army of israel..it has a unique iconic status but is available with slightly under powered engine..it has wom the paris dakar rally for 11th consequtive time never look back if you want to have it in your parking lot.this is the most capable off-roader this side of 30 lakhs..the upgraded version-sfx is simply amazing..

i've used a pajero 2 years for hill journeys from delhi. the car has the best shock absorbers i've ever sat on, much superior to endeavour. most normal indian road conditions are basically off-road conditions and this is by far the best car for our roads if you regularly go on long journeys. within the city it is not as wonderful because of its size, though even there you feel very safe and comfortable in it, and envied by all. if you can afford the price, its the best in the market
