I bought Elantra CRDi car in 2003.and today i can say i m its proud owner.I went thru looking for many cars like COROLLA ,SKODA and OPTRA that time but found that they were either lacking in performance or there were few features compared to the price tag attached.

In the beginning i was quite apprehensive as to whether i should go for a diesel car but later i went ahead taking a risk and today i feel that was the best decision.Having a diesel engine,never feels like it is when you are sitting inside the car.The drive is really smooth.Elantra CRDi was the only car that gave me value for money.It has got a great fuel efficiency .In Delhi with Air Con--12km and on highways -15km.(I was once shocked to realise about its efficiency),It has got loads of features and the braking system is just great.I have touched 180km/hr on Delhi-Agra highway and never felt like that its moving on such a high speed.The performance is superb.

I feel this car did not fare well only bcoz of looks and styling.othrwise this was a rare car 'i feel' from HYUNDAI..but the new elantra (that will come in early 2008) has got the looks also unlike its older version.Today also i feel this is the best car in any segment.coz of its features and value for money.Can anyone tell me which car offers so many features at Rs.10lacs only...answer will be only ELANTRA.

Thats why I love my car.

    Well I am planning to buy a MARUTI SWIFT , i know a person selling his Hyundai ELANTRA at 7,50,000/- which is a 2006 model and has run 20,000kms. Elantra is a nice car but later i think that he has driven it for 1yr and 20,000kms then what will be the condition of the car ? Can anybody suggest me , should I go for the new Maruti swift or to go for used Elantra.

    Hi Jiten,

    Please first of all specify whether you are talking bout the diesel version or petrol version of both the cars.
    See elantra is worth only when purchased in Diesel version .Its petrol version is not that effective.
    N if you are going for diesel version then i would say go ahead with the elantra after looking at it n checking if all the parts are original.coz its worth for your money spent.i dont think Swift can in anyway match up with elantra.U can also see Ford Fiesta (Diesel)

    i bought Elantra CRDI car in june 2006, since then i getting what i want is satisfaction.Its reliability comfort and fuel efficiency.

    before purchasing this car i took test drive of about 15 cars , after comparision i found that on this price tag elantra is best choice for me.
    and after two years i am satisfy with my decision.

    For elantra Diesel, some people telling, its not value for money, its resale is dead because of Huyndai's Discontinued . Pls suggest me, will i go for it? or optionally i've seen Verna. which is the best., May i know the spares of elantra will stay with long or will hyundai stops it soon? Karthikeyan (Tamil Nadu)

    Karthik there is no use of buying elantra now .Its new version is going to be launched soon (2008).So either u can wait for the new version which is again as good as its old model.the looks r superb and it is much more refined.
    OR u can go for some other model which will again depend on ur budget.
    N By the way Verna and Elantra r different cars from different segments.U may compare elantra with SKODA OCTAVIA or COROLLA or OPTRA

    @satish
    There is no sense to buy a second hand elantra now.It will cost around 5lacs.It wud be better to go for a new car..Like LOGAN,FIESTA,PALIO..
    I am a proud owner of elantra 2004 diesel...Till date i havnt found any major trouble in my car.(touchwood)So i cant comment whther it will be troublesome or not.
