Tata Tiago receives over 1 lakh enquiries

Earlier this month, Tata Motors left us all in shock and awe with the stellar pricing for their latest small car, the Tiago. With ex-showroom prices starting at Rs 3.30 lakh and Rs 3.92 lakh for petrol and diesel model respectively, the Tiago unarguably is a highly tempting product. It’s hardly surprising, then, to know that Tata has received over one lakh enquiries from across the country for this new model.

According to the brand's Regional Manager South-1 (Passenger Vehicle Business Unit) Nakul Gupta, Tata has had over one lakh enquiries for the Tiago; a car which represents a whole new design direction from the company. Unlike Tata’s previous hatchback designs that we are all way too familiar with, the Tiago looks distinctive. The cabin is smartly designed, too, and comes with loads of equipment as standard.

The Tiago can be had with either a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Revotron petrol or the 1.05-litre three-cylinder Revotorq diesel engine.  The petrol motor produces 84bhp and 114Nm of torque, while the diesel is good for 69bhp and 140Nm of torque. Both these engines are paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Back to the competitive pricing, now although the entry-level petrol variant of the Tiago is priced similar to the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10, the former is actually a B-segment car with the top-end diesel variant priced a little less than the Celerio diesel.
