This beautifully executed art piece of the most iconic car globally, is going to be displayed at the Kala Ghoda festival from 4th- 12th February 2012

The new Volkswagen Beetle is now open for ordering with delivering beginning in Europe by spring 2012. At the launch, 105bhp 1.2TSI engine that will come mated to a 7-speed DSG transmission and a 160bhp 1.4TSI with a 6-speed manual gearbox will be available.Three other engines – a 105bhp 1.6TDI BlueMotion Technology, 140bhp 2.0TDI and 200bhp 2.0TSI – will be joining the line-up later in 2012 along with the option of a six-speed manual gearbox for the 1.2 TSI model.

Volkswagen Group production continued its growth path in Mexico. Mexican President Felipe Calderón and Prof. Dr. Jochem Heizmann, member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG with responsibility for ‘Group Production’, opened a new section at the Puebla plant of Volkswagen de México. This is where the new Jetta will be built using state-of-the art manufacturing technology. The Group’s commitment in Mexico is part of its long-term growth strategy for North America. The Company is aiming to sell one million vehicles per year in the USA by 2018.

Volkswagen Group which launched its New Beetle and the Touareg officially last Friday, will commence the production of its premium hatchback the Polo on the 20th December at the Chakan plant near Pune.

Volkswagen has announced the launch of the New Beetle, and the Touareg in India. The New Beetle will be priced at Rs 20.45 lakh and the Touareg at Rs 51.85 lakh (ex-showroom ,Delhi.) Speaking at the launch, Mr. Neeraj Garg, Member of Board and Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars said, “We are excited to bring this iconic Beetle, to India after its success across the world.” He further added, “The launch of the Touareg is our marketing debut in the SUV segment. India has a great demand for SUVs. The Touareg has been successful across countries and the entry will further enhance our presence in the market.”

The Volkswagen Group in India with the three brands– Audi, Skoda and Volkswagen – delivered in total 2,023 vehicles to customers in October 2009 as compared to 1,464 cars sold in October 2008, up by 559 cars, taking the company’s growth to a record of 38.2 percent.
