In its bid to earn the US government's support, Ford is now looking to sell Volvo, part of Ford's premium brands. Ford is reportedly asking for US$ 6 billion for the brand.

Volvo Cars has a complete model range featuring textiles that are so clean that they are certified according to the Oeko-Tex standard. The textile standard was introduced at the beginning of the 1990s by textile research institutes as a response to the needs of consumers and the general public for textiles which posed no risk to health.

Swedish luxury car maker Volvo Car India today announced its entry into the southern region with opening of its dealership in Hyderabad in partnership with Talwar Cars Pvt. Ltd. located at Road No 12, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. The dealership will be registered under the name Talwar Cars Pvt Ltd and will be functional in the last quarter of 2008.

Established in 1973 as the Whitbread Round the World Race, the Volvo Ocean Race is a very demanding team sporting event. The 2008-09 expedition will be the 10th run of this ocean marathon. Starting from Alicante in Spain, on the 4th October, the race will span some 39,000 nautical miles, halting at 11 ports over a period of nine months. For the first time in the event's history, the race will look at visiting new ports along a new route that include ports in the middle-east, India and Asia.
