The tyre promises a fuel saving technology which provides 4% more fuel efficiency and 15% longer mileage. Assurance Fuel Max is designed for family cars in the mid and premium markets. The tyre will be imported from Indonesia and will soon be available in R15 and R16 sizes.

Goodyear India Awards Ford Figo to Lucky Consumer

Goodyear India culminated its "Goodyear Wheels Of Fortune" consumer promotion.  The grand prize, a Ford Figo, was awarded to Kailash Negi from Sri Nagar, a small town close to Dehradun. Over the past two months consumers who purchased Goodyear’s newly launched DuraPlus and Assurance tires got instant prizes of branded sunglasses plus a chance to win the Ford Figo grand prize in the lucky nationwide draw.

CEAT Ltd signs Agreement to acquire global rights of the Brand CEAT from Pirelli and C. SpA

CEAT Ltd. announced that it is acquiring the “CEAT” Brand from Pirelli & C. SpA for 9 million Euro (Rs 55 crore). CEAT Ltd. is currently the owner of the CEAT brand in 9 South Asian countries:  India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Pakistan, Bhutan, Nepal, Afghanistan and Vietnam. Pirelli is the owner of the CEAT Trademark in the rest of the world.This acquisition will enable the company to export radial and cross-ply tyres to the whole world, under the CEAT brand name.  CEAT currently exports its tyres to Europe and South America in the “Altura” brand.  It will now be able to export in the CEAT brand, which is well established in these regions. It will also allow the company to outsource tyres from any country under the CEAT brand.

JK Tyre Sets Up Greenfield Project Near Chennai

JK Tyre & Industries Ltd. (JK Tyre) announced the setting up of its world-class Greenfield project at Sriperumbudur, near Chennai. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to this effect was today signed by Dr. Raghupati Singhania, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, JK Tyre and Industries Ltd. in presence of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru M Karunanidhi and Thiru M.K Stalin, the Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

Michelin Signs MoU with Tamil Nadu Government for New Facility

The Michelin Group and Tamil Nadu government have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for Michelin’s tyre manufacturing plant, 50km north of Chennai at Thervoy Kandigai in Thiruvallur district. With a committed investment of Rs. 4,000 crores, the plant will be spread over an area of 290 acres and will absorb 1,500 workers locally.

Apollo Acquires Dutch Tyre Manufacturer

The Indian tyre manufacturer Apollo has acquired a Dutch tyre maker called Vredestein Banden BV. The amount for this trade hasn’t been revealed. The company became bankrupt last month.

CEAT’s new Greenfield radial tyre project at Halol starts off

CEAT Limited inaugurated the Radial Tyre Greenfield project in Halol, Gujarat. Investment worth Rs 700crore will be made in three phases. The plant will provide employment opportunities to 1000 people in the first phase.
