Toyota Kirloskar Motor registered sales of 13592 units in July 2011 as compared to 6834 units in July 2011. The company sales grew by 99% when compared to the corresponding period last year.

Toyota Kirloskar Motors inaugurated its 10th dealership outlet in Mumbai, taking its dealer network count to 108 in 73 cities across the country. The new outlet is a 1S (sales) facility of Madhuban Toyota, and is the latest state-of-the-art Toyota showroom opened in the country. With the Etios launch closing in this December, the new dealership, located in Western Suburbs of Khar West in Mumbai, will definitely help boost the reach of Toyota cars throughout the city.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has registered a growth of 8.5% in sales in September 2010 compared to the same period last year. It sold 6235 units in September 2010 against 5748 units in September last year. A growth of 53% has been recorded for the period January to September 2010, over the same period last year.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has just launched the much anticipated and awaited Corolla Altis Diesel. The Corolla Altis Diesel looks all geared up to set new benchmarks in the segment with its technology and pricing. The Altis Diesel starts at a very competitive Rs. 10,95,000 and goes up to 13,75,000 lakhs (Ex-Showroom price Delhi). This is really competitive pricing that can shake the likes of the Chevrolet Cruze, Skoda Laura and the Volkswagen Jetta which are the BS IV oil-burners in the segment.

The Toyota Corolla Altis Diesel will be launched tomorrow. Earlier this year, Toyota Kirloskar Motor India Limited introduced the CNG version of the Corolla Altis and we will now see the diesel variant rolling out. While the final engine specifications are yet to be officially announced, one expects the engine to be in the 90 - 100bhp range, to fight competition in the segment.

The eagerly awaited diesel version of the Toyota Corolla Altis will hit the roads on the 23rd or 24th of July this year. We had reported in March that the Altis Diesel version would be launched soon and well here it is.

The Toyota Corolla and then the newer Altis has seen plenty of competition over the last few years in the segment and to re-affirm their commitment to the environment they developed the clean and efficient Altis CNG last year, which is only sold in the national capital city and Mumbai. (Regular readers will remember that we broke the news first on our site when we got up close and personal with a CNG test car). Now, they're finally going to consider launching the diesel version of the Altis and the car is currently undergoing tests. While the final engine specifications are still unknown, one expects the engine to be in the 85 - 100bhp range if it needs to fight competition in the segment. Toyota are fairly tight-lipped on the possible launch dates of the car but we do hope it sees the light of day fairly soon – hopefully in the second quarter of 2010. Watch this space!

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) today announced its plans to hike prices of its key models - Innova, Corolla Altis and Fortuner. The price increase will be in the range – 1.5% - 2%. The price hike will be effective from 1st Jan, 2010.  

Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd. announced that the Innova has been ranked highest in the MUV/MPV segment in the J. D. Power Asia Pacific 2009 India Initial Quality Study.  This is the fifth consecutive year that the Toyota Innova has been ranked highest in the J. D. Power IQS Study.

The giant American auto makers like GM and Daimler, and Japanese manufacturers like Honda, and Nissan didn’t participate in this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show. The main highlights of this event were the Europe-based manufacturers with many of them going green.
