Tata Motors has now launched the Divo and the Ultra Starbus for the western region. The Divo is priced at Rs 66lakh (ex-showroom, Thane). The Ultra Starbus is priced at Rs 15-22lakh (ex-showrrom, Thane).

Tata Motors presented at the 82nd Geneva Motor Show the Tata Megapixel, a new four-seater city-smart global range extended electric vehicle (REEV) concept for the performance-seeking and environment-conscious motorist anywhere in the world. Combining a lithium ion phosphate battery and an on-board petrol engine generator for recharging on the move, the Tata Megapixel offers a range of up to 900 km (with a single tank of fuel), path-breaking CO2 emission of just 22 gm / km and fuel economy of 100 km / litre (under battery only power).

Tata Motors has initialized a service campaign for Sumo owners. The Sumo Victa, Sumo Grande, Sumo Victa Gold and the recently launched Sumo Gold customers can avail this scheme that begins from 17th February upto the 19th of February across 281 Tata dealerships.

Tata Motors Group global wholesales including Jaguar Land Rover, were 119,799 units in January 2012 which is higher by 21% over January 2011. The cumulative sales for the fiscal are 985,260 greater by 13% compared to the corresponding period in 2010-11.

There have been talks of the Safari Merlin since a while and Tata has been working on the facelift version of the Safari. The new Safari project is called Merlin and it will be launched early next year. There is a good possibility of it being unveiled at the Auto Expo.

Tata Motors is upgrading old Tata Nanos which were produced upto mid-September 2011 with a new starter motor to enhance their performance. This is in line with the company’s practice of upgrading its vehicles; on the Nano itself, the company had upgraded the exhaust and the electrical system in November 2011, as was announced then.
