The Tata Motors Group global wholesale figures including Jaguar Land Rover, were 114,920units in December 2011 which higher by 27% on a Y-o-Y basis. The cumulative sales for the fiscal are 865,400units higher by 12% compared to the corresponding period in 2010-11. The global sales of all commercial vehicles – Tata, Tata Daewoo and the Tata Hispano Carrocera range - were 53,854units in December 2011, a growth of 12%. Cumulative sales for the fiscal are 425,264 nos., a growth of 17%.

Tata Motors is upgrading old Tata Nanos which were produced upto mid-September 2011 with a new starter motor to enhance their performance. This is in line with the company’s practice of upgrading its vehicles; on the Nano itself, the company had upgraded the exhaust and the electrical system in November 2011, as was announced then.

Tata Motors Group global wholesales, including Jaguar Land Rover, were 108,028units in November 2011 which is higher by 35% over previous November. The cumulative sales for the fiscal are 750,457 higher by 10% compared to the corresponding period in 2010-11.

The Tata passenger vehicles business reported a total sale and distribution offtake of 28,774 nos. (27,737 Tata + 1037 Fiat) in the domestic market in November 2011, higher by 76% compared to 16,363 nos. (15,340 Tata + 1023 Fiat) in November last year. Sales of Tata passenger vehicles for November 2011 are at 27,737  nos., a growth of 81% over 15,340 nos., sold in November last year. 

Tata Motors has been diversifying its portfolio and is also revamping its current line-up. The Pimpri-based automaker had recently introduced the 4x2 version of the Aria and then upgraded the Vista with some sedan-like features. 

Tata Motors Full Throttle completed the 2011 Raid De Himalaya Rally as they ended their maiden rally with 2 podium finishes. Full Throttle has earlier been successful in the Desert Storm Rally and the Dakshin Dare Rally which were held this year.

Tata Motors completed 25 years of the Tata 407. The 407 was launched in 1986 and Tata has a close to 75% market share in this segment. Mr. P.M. Telang, Tata Motors’ Managing Director – India Operations, said, “The Tata 407 was among the first, cutting across industries, to have demonstrated the supremacy of indigenously developed products in the face of international competition.”

The Tata Motors Group global wholesales, including Jaguar Land Rover, were 107,258 nos., in September 2011, higher by 24% over September 2010. Cumulative sales for the fiscal are 546,645 higher by 6% compared to the corresponding period in 2010-11.

Tata Motors vehicles take top spot in the Manufacturer Class at the Dakshin Dare 2011 Rally. This is the second victory for team Full Throttle after the Desert Storm Rally 2011. This win proves Tata Motors commitment towards motorsports and its rigorous vehicle testing abilities in the most demanding environment possible.

Tata Motors has received its largest order ever of Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicles from a single fleet owner. The order is from Siddhivinayak Logistics Ltd. (SVLL) to supply 1,111 M&HCV trucks, to be delivered during the year. 

Based in Surat, SVLL is one of the largest fleet owners in the country, owning a fleet of over 2000 commercial vehicles. The company operates across diverse segments like steel, cement, tractors, chemicals, machinery and is a pioneer in new segments like commercial vehicle chassis carriers. SVLL plans to start transporting farm fresh fruits and vegetables through refrigerated containers on the Tata Prima.
