Maruti Suzuki had recently launched the new Swift and now the automaker will launch the DZire, the sedan version of the Swift on the 1st of February.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited sold a total of 1,11,645 vehicles in February 2011 which includes 10,102 units of exports. The company had sold a total of 96,650 vehicles in February 2010. In February 2011, the company sold 1,01,543 units in the domestic market. Sales were up 19.4% in A2 and 27 per cent in A3 segment. In C segment, company recorded a growth of 26.9%.

Maruti Suzuki India will be introducing its luxury sedan, the Kizashi into the Indian markets.  It had unveiled the model at the Delhi Auto Expo 2010 and a year later we will see the car on the Indian roads. Kizashi meaning 'omen', 'sign', or 'warning' will certainly start the alarm bells ringing for the other car manufacturers in the country.

Toyota Kirloskar Motors launched the much anticipated and awaited car, the Etios Sedan in Banglore today. The first car to roll out under Toyota's 'Q' class concept, the sedan made heads turn when it was first showcased in the Delhi Auto Expo. Under the hood beats a 2NR-FE - 1496cc 16V DOHC engine which delivers 90ps @ 5600rpm and according to ARAI gives a mileage of 17.6 kmpl. Projected as a family car the sedan has a 595 ltr boot space to store all the luggage for your long journeys. The sedan has undergone 2,00,000 km of real world testing in India and hence priority has been given to mileage, space, style and price.

The Toyota Etios Sedan will be first launched in India on the 1st of December. Ready to roll it out in style, Toyota has roped in Bollywood music director A. R. Rehman. With the introduction of the Etios Toyota will enter the under 7 lakh, mass volume segment. Toyota Kirloskar Motors aims to sell 70000 units of the Etios in India per annum with its new unit in Bidadi and it will also expand its dealership network to 150 by the end of 2010. The sedan will be the first to set foot in the Indian markets and the hatch will follow soon in March 2011.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd., showcased the Etios which turned out to be a headturner at the Auto Expo held in New Delhi in January 2010. While the car was not a production model, people at the Expo got a fairly clear picture of what the car would look like once it arrived and now Toyota Kirloskar Motors is all set to unveil the Etios on the 1st of December this year.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited, sold a total of 104,791 vehicles in August 2010, growing 23.6 per cent in the month. This includes exports of 12,117 units. This is the highest ever monthly sales recorded by the company. The company had sold a total of 84,808 vehicles in August 2009.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited announced the production of a record 5 lakh K-series engines in less than 23 months. The first K-series engine was manufactured in October 2008. The company has an installed capacity of 500,000 K-series engines annually. To meet the growing market demand, Maruti Suzuki recently announced an expansion plan of additional 200,000 K-series engines by 2012. The K-series engines are available on seven Maruti Suzuki models including the new Alto-K10, the Wagon R, Swift, Ritz, Estilo, Swift Dzire and A-star.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited introduced India to its newest beast, the Kizashi, at the Auto Expo 2010 held in New Delhi. The car is expected to hit the showrooms in India later this year. The Kizashi is Suzuki’s attempt to get some attention in the highly lucrative large mid-size sedan segment across the world. Suzuki has till date launched four sedans, the Esteem, the Baleno, the SX4 and the Swift Dzire. The Kizashi will be its fifth.

Maruti Suzuki India has increased the prices of various models including the recently launched A-Star by up to Rs 10,000. "The price increase has been necessitated due to the increase in input costs and foreign currency changes," the company said in a statement.
