Maruti Suzuki India Limited introduced India to its newest beast, the Kizashi, at the Auto Expo 2010 held in New Delhi. The car is expected to hit the showrooms in India later this year. The Kizashi is Suzuki’s attempt to get some attention in the highly lucrative large mid-size sedan segment across the world. Suzuki has till date launched four sedans, the Esteem, the Baleno, the SX4 and the Swift Dzire. The Kizashi will be its fifth.

The Skoda Yeti 4x4 was first showcased in the Geneva Motor Show in March 2009 and we soon saw the first Skoda Yeti rolling off the assembly line at Skoda’s plant in Kvasiny, Czech Republic. India got to see this mythical beast at the Delhi Auto Expo 2010. We also got a glimpse of the Hyderabad International Auto Show last month. The Yeti will be launched in October this year. The car will hit the showrooms all across India soon and it will then make its public appearance. The booking of the vehicle will commence soon after that. SkodaAuto India has announced SkodaShield; a unique after sales  proposition for Skoda customers. Skoda shield will ensure '4 years of carefree driving' with zero worries ownership experience for all customers. The all-inclusive package consists of Basic Motor Insurance, 24X7 roadside assistance and Extended Warranty. It is available with all Skoda models including the Skoda Superb, Laura and Fabia. Customers can opt for the SkodaShield at a nominal fee only at the time of purchase of new car.

Volkswagen India began production of its mid-sized sedan, the Volkswagen Vento last evening at its plant in Chakan near Pune. Vento is the first car from the Volkswagen brand which will be exclusively manufactured in India. The time-frame leading up to the official start of production of the Volkswagen Vento is unusual as it is only a year since the Volkswagen plant at Chakan started production.

Pete's Automotive launched the Bilstein shock absorbers for the Toyota Fortuner in a function held on 20th August 2009 in Kochi.
