Skoda Auto announces the commencement of its first online Booking Engine initiative for the Rapid today, following the launch of the much awaited C segment sedan in India recently. Recognizing the growing need of an online presence, ŠKODA launched this service to ensure all their customers can book the Rapid at their convenience. One of the unique offerings of this engine is that customers can not only book the Rapid online, but track their bookings as well, which will make the process significantly transparent.

Skoda has renamed the variants across its model range. Earlier, the versions offered on the Fabia, Laura and Yeti began with Classic, Ambiente and Elegance. Skoda has now renamed them to Active, Ambition and Elegance.  

Škoda will present a world-premier design concept called MissionL at this year's Frankfurt International Motor Show. Close to the final production-ready design, this concept car reveals the look of the ŠKODA's sixth model line that is to become symbolic of the Czech carmaker's planned model offensive.

ŠkodaAuto Indiaannounces the rollout of  24*7 Road side assistance program - ŠKODA Assistance non-stop help on the road, a unique after sales proposition to enhance the ownership experience for its customers. The Roadside Assistance program will be a complimentary service to all new Škoda customers for the first 2 years.

Škoda Auto sold a totsl of 68,400 units worldwide and its sales rose 26.4% in January 2011 as compared to 2010. The company also recorded high double-digit increases in the growth regions of China, India, and Russia. In China, the largest foreign market of the brand, sales increased 40.0 %, reaching 20,500 units. In Russia, the manufacturer was able to almost double sales with 3,400 sold vehicles (January 2010: 1,800 units; plus 83.6 %). In India, Škoda achieved a plus of 60.8 % and 2,800 sold vehicles.

ŠkodaAuto India rolled out the 1,00,001st car from its plant at Aurangabad. The fact that the 1,00,001st car was a Yeti, one of Škoda’s recent launches, makes it an even more special event. The occasion was graced by H E Mr Miloslav Stasek, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic in India, and Mr Stackmann,- the Board Member for Sales and Marketing at ŠkodaAuto a.s. and Chairman of ŠkodaAuto India.

Skoda India has unveiled the Yeti today in New Delhi. The Yeti will be available in Ambiente and Elegance trim levels. The Yeti is priced at Rs 15.40 lakhs for the Ambiente and Rs 16.62 lakhs for the Elegance (both ex-showroom, Delhi).

Skoda Auto India will soon be launching a sedan, for the time being named as SK215, somewhere in the last quarter of 2011. Skodas latest offering was the facelifted Fabia and later on this year the Yeti too will find a place in the SUV segment. The SK215 is a sedan and will be based on the Fabia platform.
