Skoda Auto announces the commencement of its first online Booking Engine initiative for the Rapid today, following the launch of the much awaited C segment sedan in India recently. Recognizing the growing need of an online presence, ŠKODA launched this service to ensure all their customers can book the Rapid at their convenience. One of the unique offerings of this engine is that customers can not only book the Rapid online, but track their bookings as well, which will make the process significantly transparent.

Škoda Auto India announced a stupendous growth of 69% for June ’11 over the same period last year. Škoda Auto India’s total sales for June’11 stood at 2611 units against 1639 units for June ’10.

Škoda Auto sold a totsl of 68,400 units worldwide and its sales rose 26.4% in January 2011 as compared to 2010. The company also recorded high double-digit increases in the growth regions of China, India, and Russia. In China, the largest foreign market of the brand, sales increased 40.0 %, reaching 20,500 units. In Russia, the manufacturer was able to almost double sales with 3,400 sold vehicles (January 2010: 1,800 units; plus 83.6 %). In India, Škoda achieved a plus of 60.8 % and 2,800 sold vehicles.

ŠkodaAuto India announced its  association as co-sponsors with the second edition of Mumbai Cyclothon - Tour de Mumbai I & II, 2011. ŠkodaAuto Cars will be a part of the convoy and be the safety and support cars at the cyclothon.

Volkswagen Group continued to grow in India with the company delivering its best sales figures in the Indian market since its entry here. The Volkswagen Group which is present in India with the three brands - Audi, Skoda and Volkswagen - achieved a growth in deliveries to customers of 180.7% in the period January to December 2010. The three brands together delivered in total 53,341 vehicles to customers in 2010 as compared to 19,001 cars in 2009.

A total of 10 Fabia Super 2000 will be making an appearence at the Monte Carlo Rally. This is the opening event  of the 2011 Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC), in which Škoda is going to be defending its titles in both the Manufacturers and Drivers competitions.

In 2010, Å koda Auto achieved the best sales result in the history of the company. With 762,600 sold vehicles (2009: 684,200), the brand increased its sales 11.5 %. Prof. Dr. h.c. Winfried Vahland, the chairman of the board of Å koda Auto said, "In 2010, Å koda has given an outstanding performance. In almost all markets, we have had significant growth and increased our market shares. Again, our sales have risen at a double-digit pace."

ŠkodaAuto India announced a sales growth of 29% for the month of November 2010. ŠkodaAuto India’s total sales for November 2010 stood at 1841 units as against 1425 units in November 2009. Škoda's recent launches the Škoda Fabia (read road test here) and Škoda Yeti (read road test here) are frontrunners when it comes to the company's sales figures.

Skoda Auto India will soon be launching a sedan, for the time being named as SK215, somewhere in the last quarter of 2011. Skodas latest offering was the facelifted Fabia and later on this year the Yeti too will find a place in the SUV segment. The SK215 is a sedan and will be based on the Fabia platform.

SkodaAuto India today rolled out the 25000th Fabia built in India from the Volkswagen Group’s facility located at Chakan, Pune. Present at the event were Prof. Dr. h.c. Winfried Vahland, Chairman of Board of Directors of ŠkodaAuto a.s. and the new Volkswagen Group Chief Representative India & President and Managing Director Volkswagen India Pvt. Ltd, Dr. Frank Loeschmann.
