Renault has confirmed the specification for its New Twingo, which launches in Feburary 2012 in Dynamique 1.2 16V 75 guise.

This is the Renault Pulse. And it is the French carmaker’s smallest, most affordable car in India. The Pulse will be priced at Rs 4.5 lakh, ex-showroom in Delhi, for the base version when it goes on sale two months from now in January following the Auto Expo. The most expensive version of the car will retail for under Rs 6.5 lakh and will be loaded. It will come with keyless entry and start, a digital climate control system, power steering, power windows all round and electric ORVMs. It will also get a stereo that will play most formats and hopefully will also get Bluetooth and controls for the stereo on the steering. We say hopefully, because the Pulse engines with the Nissan. Needless to say, the Pulse too will come with two engines – the petrol will be a 1.2-litre three-cylinder 76bhp unit while the diesel will be four-cylinder 64bhp 1.5-litre motor.

Renault India will unveil its latest salvo, a small car, on the 29th of October. The car to be called Pulse is the third of the five new products that the French carmaker plans to launch by the end of 2012. It has already introduced a D-segment sedan in the Fluence and a luxury SUV, which is the Koleos. 

Renault chose the Frankfurt Motor Show to showcase its concept – FRENDZY, which the French manufacturer claims is the fourth step in its design direction that was first showcased in the DeZir concept.

Renault India has launched the new Koleos, its front SUV offering for India. The Koleos is powered by a 2.0-litre that churns out 150bhp and 320Nm of torque. This is the same engine that comes on the Nissan X-Trail. The Koleos is priced at Rs 22.99lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Koleos comes mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. 

The year 2011 is a year of celebration for employees at the Renault Nissan Alliance India Pvt Ltd (RNAIPL) as the Company has crossed yet another milestone by producing the 100,000 1.2-litre and 1.5-litre HR12DE petrol engines in a record period of 15 months. Earlier, the alliance plant had achieved a milestone by producing 100,000 Micra cars in a record period of 13 months.

Renault Sport F1 and Williams F1 are delighted to announce a long-term chassis-engine partnership.Renault Sport F1, the F1 division of Renault, will supply AT&T Williams with its championship-winning V8 power units for the 2012 and 2013 seasons. In addition to the supply of its Formula One engines, the newly-formed alliance includes several other exciting business and marketing opportunities, with a view to continuing after the introduction of the new, energy efficient, turbocharged V6 engines arrive in the sport in 2014.

Renault has already launched the Fluence and now, the French is focusing on opening dealerships across the country and on its upcoming new sUV, the Koleos. The Koleos is likely to come in India by this September.
