Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart is putting the spotlight of its presence at the 81st Geneva Motor Show on the world premiere of a parallel full hybrid model. In the wake of the success of the Cayenne S Hybrid it signals a new chapter in the Zuffenhausen company’s “Porsche Intelligent Performance“ philosophy. The new hybrid model will be unveiled on the 1st of March 2011.

We also got a chance to speak to Mr. James Bourne, Regional Operational Manager, Porsche Middle East. Well here's the Porsche story. Q. Could you throw some light on how you’ve managed to reduce fuel consumption on the new Cayenne? A. We have managed to reduce the weight of the new Cayenne considerably by using a special combination of materials across the vehicle from the body to the chassis that have considerably helped in the vehicle’s lightweight construction and have increased the performance. The engineers and designers have reduced a substantial amount of weight with the panoramic sun roof itself, which is now available as an option, and this trend is seen throughout the vehicle. It’s a more dynamic car than its predecessor and sportier.

We got talking to Mr. Ashish Chordia, Director, Porsche India who gave us quiet a few pointers as to what we can expect from the brand and also how important India is for the brand. Q. After the launch of the Cayenne, can we expect anything more from the Porsche stables this year? A. Well, we’ve just launched the new Porsche Cayenne and we’re very excited about this brand new model. While we will not be bringing in anything else this year, you can look forward to something new in 2011.

The Porsche 911 GT2 RS is making its world debut at the Moscow Auto Show on August 25th. With a power up by 90 hp and weight down by 70 kilograms in comparison to the 911 GT2, the new 911 GT2 RS has a power-to-weight ratio of just 2.21 kilos per horsepower. Compared to the 911 GT2, fuel consumption and CO2 emissions are down by approximately five per cent to 11.9 ltr/100 km and 284 g/km despite this extra power and performance.

It wasn’t certainly a usual Sunday morning for Mumbaikars. The enthusiasm to get a glimpse of the world’s most revered sports cars at the super car show brought in by Gautam Singhania was rather astounding.

The giant American auto makers like GM and Daimler, and Japanese manufacturers like Honda, and Nissan didn’t participate in this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show. The main highlights of this event were the Europe-based manufacturers with many of them going green.

Porsche has refined the DNA of the in the new 911 Sport Classic available to a strictly limited number of very special 911 enthusiasts. The 911 Sport Classic will be presented at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show and is limited in production to just 250 cars.
