BMW launched their cheapest car yet in India, the BMW X1. BMW's SUV is priced at at Rs 22 lakhs - Rs 29.9 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). The company will assemble the X1 from its Chennai plant. As we said, the car will come in petrol and diesel variants (read post here). While the petrol option, BMW X1 sDrive 18i, will be available for Rs 22 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the diesel variant will have two options, X1 sDrive 20d and will be priced at Rs 23.9 lakh and X1 sDrive 20d Exclusive priced at Rs 29.9 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), respectively.

Nissan Motor India Private Ltd announced that it has registered total sales of 1256 nos for the month of September 2010 as against 57 in September 2009. Out of the 1256 nos, the sales of the new Nissan Micra were 1183 units in September 2010 as against 1182 nos sold in August 2010. Out of the remaining, Nissan Teana, clocked 18 nos in September 2010 as against 21 nos in Sept 2009 and Nissan X-trail registered sales of 55 units as against 36 nos in Sept 2009. 

Nissan Motor India Private Ltd (NMIPL) announced that it has registered total sales of 1249 units for the month of August 2010 as against 22 units in August 2009. The Nissan Micra spearheaded the sales figures with 1182 units in Aug 2010 as against 928 nos sold in July 2010. We got a chance to test the car and have posted our views about the cars performance. Nissan Motor India Private Ltd (NMIPL) announced that it registered a total sales figure of 1005 numbers for the month of July 2010. Out of the 1005, the sales of the newly launched Nissan Micra were 928 units in July 2010. The sales for the Nissan Micra commence don the 15th of July. Out of the remaining, 27 units of the Nissan Teana were and sales figures for the Nissan X-trail was 50 units.

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. announced the release of the new revised X-Trail and the addition of a 6-speed automatic transmission model to the Clean Diesel X-Trail 20GT. The X-Trail "20GT" is powered by the 2-liter M9R Diesel engine with the addition of a 6-speed automatic transmission model. The engine was a result of a joint venture development between Nissan and Renault. The engine generates from a low RPM range, a level of torque comparable to that of a 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine.

The company has opened five new dealerships recently in Ludhiana, Gurgaon, Calicut, Jalandhar and Surat in line with its growth strategy and long-term commitment to offer its high quality service standards to guarantee consumer satisfaction.

Nissan Motor India Private Ltd. (NMIPL) in line with its ongoing campaign to build brand awareness to reach out to its target and prospective customers has started a new ‘EXPOSURE MARKETING’ initiative at high footfall areas across key cities in India. Beginning in May 2010, this two-day activity will be held every Saturday and Sunday at a prominent mall in the city and will move to different location in a different city the following weekend thus covering the length and breadth of the country. The activity will continue until December 2010.

Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd (NMIPL) has opened its tenth dealer in the country. With the inauguration of EVM Nissan in Cochin. This new dealership is located at Survey no 193/1, 193/2 & 193/9, INTU Junction, Village Maradu, Nettoor, Eranakaulam – 682040 and is directed by Mr. Sabu Johny (MD, EVM automobiles Pvt Ltd). This facility is spread over 1941 square meters of serviceable area.

(NMIPL) today inaugurated its Corporate Office at T Nagar, Chennai, at the hands of Mr. Kiminobu Tokuyama, Managing Director and CEO, Nissan Motor India Private Ltd (NMIPL). Also present were colleagues and officials from the Renault Nissan Automotive India Private Ltd (RNAIPL), Renault Nissan Technology and Business Centre India Private Ltd (RNTBCI) and partners.

Nissan has reduced the prices of its models based on the duty reductions announced in the fiscal budget. The prices of X-Trail and Teana have been reduced by Rs 5,000/- with immediate effect.
