The BMW 1 Series GT spied testing in Europe. The car that has been spied is the long wheelbase seven-seater versions and will be based on the German automaker’s new front wheel drive UKL platform. This platform is expected to underpin around two dozen vehicles in both the BMW and Mini range.

Audi India has inaugurated its first showroom in Orissa. It is located at Utkal signature in the state capital Bhubaneswar and is spread over an area of 11500sqft. This is the 26th Audi showroom in India and the company plans to open eight more by the end of the year. It was inaugurated by Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India, Devjyoti Patnaik, managing director, Audi Bhubaneswar in the presence of Bollywood actress, Lara Dutta.

The Mahindra S 101 compact SUV has been spied testing again by Motor Vikatan in Tirupur, outside Coimbatore. This is the same vehicle that was spotted testing outside Chennai in the beginning of the month. As we had said before, the car is heavily camouflaged and is missing major bits of bodywork suggesting that the design is still being worked upon.

Nissan India has issued a recall pertaining to the Micra and Sunny for replacing the master brake cylinder. A totals of 22,188 units manufactured in Chennai and sold in India are affected by the recall.

The 2014 Mini hatchback has been spied testing test in Europe by the team at Autocar. The 2014 Mini features mainly cosmetic changes both inside and outside but retains the familiar Mini looks that have defined the range since BMW took over 13 years ago.

Its official! The most highly anticipated car of the year, the Ford EcoSport compact crossover is all set to be launched in June. The American automaker has announced the news via a mass e-mailer that it has sent out to all those who signed up for its news alerts. We have already driven the EcoSport and pretty much know everything there is to know about the vehicle…expect obviously the price (the final piece in the puzzle) and it seems that we are one step closer to that.

Ford has announced that it will close its Geelong and Broad Meadows plants in Australia in October 2016. It has attributed the move to high exchange rates, high production costs, mounting losses and declining market. The American automaker’s foray down under began 91 years ago when it setup shop outside Melbourne to assemble the ‘Model T’ and since then has been churning out almost all versions of Ford’s cars in RHD setup.
