Tata Nano’s bookings commences on 9th April. The car will be on display across the Tata showrooms in India from the first week of April. The booking forms for the Tata Nano will be available at 30,000 different locations across the country.

After launching the Nano for the Indian market, Tata now plans to work on its European version of the Nano  called the Nano Europa. The Nano Europa will available in the European markets by 2011.

Tata Motors just launched people's car of India, the Nano. As promised by Mr Tata, the Nano has a price tag of Rs.1,00,000 (ex-factory). The car is available in three versions i.e. base, CX (has AC) and LX (has AC and front power windows). Ex-showroom prices (New Delhi) of Nano are 1,23,360 for base, 1,51,360 for CX and 1,72,360 for top-end LX variant.

The first Tata Nano was rolled out in Tata Motors Pantnagar plant. The 1 lakh fame car will be officially launched on 23rd March in Mumbai.

“A promise is a promise,” said Ratan Tata, Chairman, Tata Motors, on 10th January, 2008, when the Nano was first displayed at the Auto Show in Delhi. The Nano project didn’t grab the attention of only Indians; the entire world had their eyes glued to the world’s cheapest car.

As the launch date for the Tata small car, the Rs 1 lakh Nano draws closer, Tata Motors is facing vastly changed conditions from the time the car was unveiled. While unveiling the Nano at the January 2008 Auto Expo, Tata Motors chairman Ratan Tata had promised to live up to the promised price tag of Rs1 lakh for the Nano, while commentators had maintained that the company would live up to its commitment, at least till the launch of the car this October.

No, the Tatas haven't joined hands with Volkswagen, but Caparo Engineering, the makers of the T1 – arguably the world's fastest, but without doubt the most extreme road-legal car – will contribute towards the Nano's production. Specific inner body panels will be pressed and assembled by Caparo in a facility in Singur that is adjacent to the Nano's manufacturing facility.
