The most affordable car just got more affordable as Tata has added more features to the Nano, without increasing its price. The Nano has undergone more cosmetic and mechanical upgrades. The 624cc engine of the Nano now produces 38bhp instead of 35bhp (increase in power by 10%) and 51Nm of torque (earlier 48Nm). The new ARAI claimed mileage for the Nano is now 25.4kmpl instead of 23.6kmpl. The car is being offered with 4 years or 60,000kms warranty.

Tata's plant in Sanand which produces the world's cheapest car the Nano, was closed for a fortnight. This was done for maintenance purpose and even to align the inventory of the plant.

Tata Motors launched the Tata Nano in Nepal. The car will be on sale across Nepal through the company’s distributor, Sipradi Trading Pvt. Ltd., at 14 Sipradi owned & Sipradi authorised dealer showrooms.

Tata Motors’ total sales (including exports) of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles in February 2011 were 77,543 vehicles. The passenger vehicles business reported a total sale and distribution of 33,751 nos of both Fiat and Tata put together.

Tata Motors presented the Pixel at the Geneva Motor Show. The Pixel is a new city car concept for Europe that is based on the Nano and is just over three metres long. Tata claims to comfortably seat four adults, unlike a typical city car which is meant for two adults and two children.

Tata Motors will unveil its all new concept of it's small car the Pixel. After the Nano the company will/might be its next venture into the small car segment. Based on the Nano platform the focus in making this car was primarily fuel efficiency. The Pixel might boast of a 3-cylinder diesel powered engine.

Tata Motors achieved its target of making a car that is not only cheap but efficient. The Tata Nano is the cheapest car in not only India but till a point in time was also in the world. The Nano suited the needs of the Indian consumer and now the car is made available on demand by the company. There were talks about Tata putting a sub-1-Litre engine in its diesel variant and we may soon see the car being launched in India.

Tata Motors today formally announced a special scheme on the Tata Nano for all defence personnel. The cheapest car in India will be offered at a free comprehensive maintenance package for 4 years/ 60,000 km (whichever is earlier). The  offer is over and above the prevalent market offer.

Tata Motors today announced open sales of the Tata Nano in all the remaining states of India. The car was thus far freely available in 12 states. Customers across the country, who are desirous of driving home a Tata Nano but had not booked the car during 2009, will now be able to purchase a Tata Nano from the company’s 874 sales outlets in India.

Tata Motors Finance (TMF) launched a special Tata Nano finance scheme, under which a customer can get a loan with select documents in just 48 hours. TMF will provide finance up to 90% for the Tata Nano, at easy rates. TMF, which provides customer finance for all Tata Motors vehicles, is present in all the 540 odd passenger vehicles outlets of the company.
