Tata Motors has launched the Venture in Maharashtra. The MPV will be priced in the range of Rs. 4 lakh and Rs. 5 lakh, ex-showroom Kalyan (Thane district), BS III.  Earlier this month, Tata launched the Venture only in Rajasthan and now we see the company bringing the car into Maharashtra. This statewise launch does speak volumes about Tata Motors underlying stratergy to match demand with supply.

Tata Motors launched the Tata Venture in Rajasthan. The Venture is a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) with the footprint and maneuverability of a hatchback car, but the interior space of a utility vehicle. The less than 4 metre long Tata Venture can comfortably accommodate eight passengers in three front facing rows and has ample luggage space.

The year 2010 ended on a high for the Automobile Industry in India and the fact that there were more than 50 launches throughout the year in different segments shows the kind of interest car manufacturers are taking into bringing their products in the market. Society of Indian Automobiles (SIAM), in its yearly report mentioned that the Indian car market grew by 32.69 % in 2010.

Chevrolet Spark won the top award for quality for the fourth consecutive year in the India Automotive Initial Quality Study announced by J.D Power Asia Pacific 2010. The Chevrolet Spark was ranked the highest in the compact car segment in this year’s study conducted by JD Power. This is for the record fourth time in a row that Spark has bagged this prestigious award. Chevrolet Beat bagged the second position in the Premium Compact Car segment and the Chevrolet Tavera was placed at second position in the Multi Utility Vehicle/Multi Purpose Vehicle segments respectively.

Mercedes-Benz India today launched the new R-Class in Mumbai. The R-Class was launched in 2006 and now the facelifted version has been introduced for the first time in India. The R-Class will be available in the long wheelbase R350 4Matic. The all-wheel drive MPV will boast of a 3498cc V6 petrol engine and will generate 272 bhp. The car is priced at 58.79 Lakhs (ex-showroom Mumbai)

We as Indians, have always cribbed about space, may it be your apartment, your car or even one’s personal cubicle. The idea of ‘big’ has been traced into our minds and we do look for something that is big, spacious and of course luxurious. Come to think of it size does matter, doesn’t it? Passenger Vehicles segment during April-August 2009 grew at 11.97 percent over same period last year. Passenger Cars grew by 13.47 percent, Utility Vehicles fell marginally by 0.10 percent and Multi Purpose Vehicles grew by 22.67 percent in this period.

Passenger Vehicles segment during April-July 2009 grew at 9.45 percent over same period last year. Passenger Cars grew by 10.54 percent, Utility Vehicles fell by (-) 1.53 percent and Multi Purpose Vehicles grew by 22.90 percent in this period. In July 2009, Passenger vehicles sales recorded a growth rate of 29.18 percent over July 2008.

Mahindra and Mahindra are interested in the feedback of the consumer, which helped them develop the Xylo (nee Ingenio).
