Michelin Tyres announced the launch of its concept store ‘TyrePlus’ in Pitampura, New Delhi. With this new launch, Michelin is expanding its network of distributors through its special tyre services formats in India. The servicing of passenger vehicles with concept store ‘TyrePlus’ and commercial vehicles with ‘Michelin Truck Service Center’ (MTSC), Michelin is strengthening its touch points.

The 11th edition of Michelin Challenge Bibendum was recently concluded in Berlin, held from May 18 to 22. In an online survey by Syntec-Conseil en Relations Publiques, Michelin has been ranked the Top brand in Trust and Service. The online survey of 1,200 people in France analyzed companies’ reputations in five key areas: trust, service quality, employer brand, environmental stewardship and social responsibility. While Michelin ranked first on the Trust and Service Quality parameter, the brand also got an overall 2nd rank in corporate reputation. Thierry Wellhoff, President of Syntec-Conseil en Relations Publiques said, "Michelin is a very forthright, dependable company whose behavior is consistent with the image it projects."

Michelin's participation in the 78th running of the world's most famous endurance race will feature an all-new range of eco-friendly tyres. In addition, Michelin will organise, for the second time, the “Michelin Green X Challenge” which has now become an integral part of the regulations that govern the discipline.

The Michelin Group and Tamil Nadu government have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for Michelin’s tyre manufacturing plant, 50km north of Chennai at Thervoy Kandigai in Thiruvallur district. With a committed investment of Rs. 4,000 crores, the plant will be spread over an area of 290 acres and will absorb 1,500 workers locally.

The Directorate General of Quality Assurance, Ministry of Defence held a conference on tyres where tyre and other ancillary automotive manufacturers presented technical papers on tyre technology on the 9th and 10th of October 2009.
