Mercedes-Benz to launch the G Wagon in India today

Mercedes-Benz will be launching their 2011 model of the G-Wagon in India today. The Gelandenwagen (G-Wagon) comes from the G-Class segment of the Mercedes stable, which holds a reputation for the most rugged vehicle segment of the lot. The G-Wagon will be priced at somewhere close to 1 crore and get a 5-speed automatic transmission.

Mercedes Benz sells 640 units in January

Mercedes-Benz India sold 640 units in the month of January 2011. The key growth drivers in January 2011 were the C–Class with 265 units, E-Class with 252 units, the S-Class with 46 units as well as the SUV range comprising the M-Class, GL-Class and the R-Class with 67 units. The German company has always been a favourite among Indians and it shows with the amount of cars the manufacturer sells each month.

Maybach to come to India on the 1st of February

The 1st of February will see Mercedes-Benz launch the Maybach in  the Indian Market. The company is already celebrating 125 years in the car-making business and the launch of the luxury car only adds to its celebrations in India. Mercedes Benz India announces a growth of 80 percent in 2010

Mercedes-Benz India announced their year-end sales performance for 2010. The company has sold 5819 cars from Jan – Dec 2010 which is a growth of 80% over 2009. The key growth drivers were the E–Class with 2490 units, C-Class with 2070 units as well as the SUV range comprising the M-Class, GL-Class and the R-Class with 523 units.

Mercedes Benz rolls out 30000th locally assembled car in India

The 30,000th locally produced Mercedes-Benz rolled out of the Mercedes Benz India assembly plant in Chakan. Mercedes had reached the mark of 20,000th locally produced car in 2008, 13 years after start of operations in India. However the landmark of 30,000 was achieved within a short span of less than 3 years.

Mercedes Benz registers a sales growth of 89 percent

Mercedes-Benz registered a sale of 518 units for the month of November. This is a jump of 89% as compared to Nov 2009 (275 units). The key growth drivers have been the E-Class with 251 units sold in November 2010, followed by the C-Class which sold 156 units and the S-Class which sold 39 units. The SUVs GL-Class and M-Class continued their popularity run with total of 49 units thus bringing up the SUV wholesale total for Jan-Nov 2010 to 375 units.
