Expensive cars will be able to reduce the fuel costs to half. Cars like Skoda Octavia, Toyota Corolla, Maruti Suzuki SX4 and a few more could be available in either LPG or CNG variants.

Maruti Suzuki might just pull a rabbit out of their hat – we hear that the company might be ready with the diesel variant of its SX4. The SX4 could have a 1.3-litre or 1.6-litre multijet diesel engine in it.

Maruti Suzuki’s sales grew up by 24% in February 2009 as compared to the February 2008. The company sold 79,190 units (including exports) compared to 63,822 units sold last February.

Maruti Suzuki India has increased the prices of various models including the recently launched A-Star by up to Rs 10,000. "The price increase has been necessitated due to the increase in input costs and foreign currency changes," the company said in a statement.

Maruti Suzuki isgoing to launch another new car in India after its small car, the A-Star. The new model does not have a name yet.

Maruti Suzuki launched Green Cabs, a fleet of its most-loved Maruti 800 AC in Hyderabad. These 800s are factory-fitted with LPG kits.
