The Board of Directors of Maruti Suzuki India Limited approved the financial results for the third quarter of 2011-12 (October- December 2011) here today.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited sold a total of 85,565 vehicles in September, 2011. This includes 6,749 units that were exported. The disruption in production owing to the labour issue at the Company’s Manesar plant during September adversely impacted the sales numbers during the month. The Swift, SX4 and A-star are manufactured at the Manesar plant.

The first quarter and then the month of April have shown record sales for many a manufacturer. The growth trend has been positive for most maufacturers with a steady raise in demand for the diesel variants.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited sold a total of 1,12,554 vehicles in November 2010.  This includes 10,051 units of exports. The company had sold 87,807 vehicles in November 2009. For the second consecutive month, the company crossed 1 lakh units sales mark in the domestic market in November 2010 with 1,02,503  units.

The much awaited Natural Gas Vehicle (NGV) conference kick-started from today in Mumbai. The conference cum exhibition will be open for a duration of three days with eminent speakers discussing about not only the growth opportunities but also answering the queries of those visiting these discussions. As said by one of the speakers the conference will be business, knowledge and social exchange spread across three days. The exhibition was declared open by Mr. Jitin Prasada, Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas. He went on to say how important conferences such as these were as they got together some brilliant minds and also make the public understand that there are enough and more ways to counter the epidemic of pollution.

The Government of Haryana and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (MSIL) the country’s largest car manufacturer felicitated and gifted 32 cars to medalists of 19th Commonwealth Games. At a glittering ceremony the Hon’ble CM, Shri Bhupinder Singh Hooda, handed over the car keys to winners.

Maruti Suzuki Ritz clocked the fastest ever sales of 100,000 units today in the A-2 premium segment.  The car which was launched in May 2009 has to date sold one lakh units and the company is looking forward to more bookings this festive season.

The 12th Maruti Suzuki Raid-de-Himalayas, will take place from 10th October to 16th October. To make it more grueling and exciting this year’s event will take a more challenging route. This edition has 164 teams in the fray, with 277 participants.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited sold a total of 1,08,006 vehicles in September 2010. This includes 12,858 units for export. This is the highest ever total monthly sales by the company. Previous highest was 1,04,971 units in August 2010.The company had sold a total of 83,306 vehicles in September 2009.
