Maruti Suzuki India Limited has won the prestigious National Safety Award for the year 2009, in the accident free category of the automobile manufacturers.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited today announced the launch of its nationwide search for finding India's most talented and versatile youth through a reality show “Colors of Youth 2011”.  

With the festive season going on, Mumbai’s largest Bike & Car Mela ‘Fortpoint Mahotsav’ an annual event already had around 1000 bikes going off the shelves in the first week. Fortpoint Automotive has been organizing this Mahostav since last 8 years.  Mr Bafna confirmed that the total number of car & bikes sold were about 1,100 in the first week of the Mahostav.

Maruti Suzuki has introduced the limited editions of the Alto - the Alto Xplore. The Xplore will come loaded with 10 features and the prices start from Rs 2.32lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) is available with the Alto, Alto CNG and Alto K10. 

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has joined hands with Gurgaon Police to set up the first of its kind model `Road Safety Knowledge Centre’, at Gurgaon. Mr. S. S. Deswal, Commissioner of Police, Gurgaon inaugurated the `Road Safety Knowledge Centre’ alongwith Mr. Mayank Pareek, Managing Executive Officer (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki.  Present at the occasion were several senior officers from the Gurgaon administration and Maruti Suzuki.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited sold a total of 85,565 vehicles in September, 2011. This includes 6,749 units that were exported. The disruption in production owing to the labour issue at the Company’s Manesar plant during September adversely impacted the sales numbers during the month. The Swift, SX4 and A-star are manufactured at the Manesar plant.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited unveiled its 1000th showroom `Comet Motors’. It carries forward the company’s philosophy of spreading the countrywide network to reach out to more and more customers in Tier-II, Tier-III cities. 

Maruti Suzuki is all set to invade the TV sets by bringing an all new reality show Ritz—Jeele ye pal. The reality show goes on air from Sept 10, 2011. Ritz Jeele ye pal has been specially designed in association with LIN TV, a division of Lintas Media Group to connect and engage with its customers.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited sold a total of 91,442 vehicles in August 2011. This includes 14,356 units for export. The company had sold a total of 104,791 vehicles in August 2010.
